Spray head for compressed air painting devices.
The present invention relates to a spray head for painting machines. compressed air, and one embodiment is shown schematically by way of example in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section. Fig. 2 gives a representation of the jets of the material to be sprayed, leaving the apparatus of fig. 1. FIG. 3 and 4 are views from the end faces.
The head piece itself is represented by 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
said and by 2 an end disc mounted on this part and pierced with oblique conduits 3.4 are helical grooves formed in the nozzle 5 while 4a are the smooth faces existing between these grooves on the nozzle opening part 5 6 is a hollow needle-shaped valve, 7 is a connecting piece placed between the head piece 1 and the sprayer body not shown, 8 are holes made in this connector and through which air air blowing is brought into a chamber 10 surrounding the part 5. The compressed air in this annular chamber escapes in jets partly through the conduits 3, following oblique lines, and partly in helix through the helical grooves 4.
At the same time, the blowing air escapes along the axis of the assembly, in a straight line, through the hole 9 made in the hollow valve 6. '
As a result of the outlet of the blowing air through the ducts 3 the helical grooves 4 and the hole 9, the liquid leaving the annular space 11 (in the case where the valve 6 is open) is sprayed by a large number air currents of different shapes, so that a bundle of liquid and air jets is produced, giving the appearance of a braiding (see Fig. 2).
In order to be able to give this beam a more or less round, flat or oval shape, the head piece 1 is connected to the connecting piece 7 so that it can be moved forwards or backwards by means of a step of extension screw The following result is thus obtained: If the head piece 1 is transferred backwards to the point that the internal wall of the disc 2 comes into contact with the faces 4a, dead air spaces are produced , of flat shape, through which the blowing air does not escape, in dead spaces being in number equal to that of the faces 4a.
