Abstract
The mirror is prism-shaped with a curved reflective base (2) and at least two trapezoidal-shaped adjacent upper surfaces (4a, 4b) located opposite this base. The length of the connecting edge between the two upper surfaces is greater than the width of the base. The upper surfaces have different heights. The mirror is made from plastic or clear glass.
Description

DEAD CORNER MIRROR The invention relates to a blind spot mirror.
The disadvantage of the blind spot mirrors known to date is that the field of view of the blind spot mirror is too small.
The object of the invention is to provide a blind spot mirror with a wider field of view.
This object of the invention is achieved by providing a blind-angle mirror, wherein the blind-angle mirror is a prism, comprising a curved reflecting base surface, and at least two top surfaces opposite this base surface and adjacent to one another, said top surfaces being trapezoidal. and wherein the common side of the two trapezoidal upper surfaces has a length that is greater than the width of the base surface.
In a preferred embodiment of a blind spot mirror according to the invention, the said trapezia have a different height.
The blind spot mirror according to the invention is preferably made of plastic or clear glass.
In order to further clarify the features of this invention and to indicate additional advantages and details thereof, a more detailed description of a blind spot mirror according to the invention now follows. It is clear that nothing in the following description can be interpreted as a limitation of the protection claimed in the claims for the device according to the invention.

In this description reference is made to the accompanying drawings by reference numerals, in which - figure 1 is a top view of a blind spot mirror according to the invention; figure 2 is a perspective view of a blind spot mirror according to the invention and as represented in figure 1; figure 3 is a perspective view of the spherical mirror provided in the blind spot mirror according to the invention and as represented in figures 1 and 2.
The blind spot mirror (10) according to the invention is a prism, which is elongated, as is shown in figures 1 and 2. The base surface (2) of the prism-shaped mirror (10) is a curved (spherical) mirror, as is shown in figure 3. The two other top surfaces (4a, 4b) which are located on the opposite side of the base surface (2) are of trapezoidal shape. These upper surfaces (4a, 4b) can be flat or curved. The height (h1, h2) of the two trapezia is preferably different.
The prism-shaped mirror (10) is made of clear glass or plastic.
To determine the angle of incidence, the two different heights (h1, h2) (and therefore sizes) of the trapezoidal upper surfaces (4a, 4b) must be taken into account. The common side (5) of these two adjacent upper surfaces (4a, 4b) (also referred to as the apex angle of the cutting faces of the prism) has a length (1) that is greater than the width (b) of the base surface (2), or thus the underlying spherical mirror. This broadening avoids side effects.
