<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Introduction of force with horizontal force compensation for bending rod force sensors The invention deals with a weighing element which, due to its typical construction, is suitable for use in rough conditions where very many parasitic forces occur. This weighing element is therefore particularly suitable for use in mobile weighing systems, such as on trucks, agricultural machines, fork lifts and movable weigh bridges.
The element can vary in size depending on the application and capacity, and can be installed (upside down) with or without the mounting parts.
The weighing element (drawing page 5) is constructed with a bending rod force transducer which has the properties of being able to absorb large forces in the 2 horizontal axes X and Y, and also has a very large insensitivity to these forces with respect to the vertical (to be measured) ) force Z.
The disadvantage is that the force introduction is not very efficient.
By applying the force introduction described here for the (single or double) bending rod sensor, it is achieved that all forces according to X and Y (horizontal axes) that occur in a weighing system (consisting of at least 1 force sensor), only via the weighing part of the force sensor ( the force introduction hole and bending section (O) of the force transducer) are transferred to the non-weighing section.
A metal part, called fixed force introduction part, is mounted in the force introduction hole, consisting of I or more parts (eg A, B, C) which ensure that this fixed force introduction part is very rigidly attached to the weighing part of the force transducer. This fixed force introduction part is also provided with the necessary recesses and / or other elements for installing specially hardened parts (D, E, F) which ensure a perfectly centered introduction of the force, which is created by the weight to be measured.
The fixed force introduction part (consisting of A, B, C) is completely encased by an elastic whole with a certain strength and flexibility (eg rubbers, neoprene etc ...) consisting of (G, H)
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
which in turn is encapsulated by the loose force introduction part (consisting of J K L) on which all forces according to X, Y and Z of the weighing part end up.
The result of this is that the horizontal forces according to X and Y of the weighing part (M) always via the elastic part (GH), and the vertical force Z of the weighing part to be measured via the hardened force introduction parts (DEF), towards the non weighing part (N) of the structure (and therefore the measuring element of the force transducer must pass) The force introduction parts (DEF) and the elastic (GH) used can take different forms, as in the accompanying drawings p. 6 is shown.
A complete weighing system can consist of 1 or more single or double bending rod force sensors provided with this load introduction element described above. On the basis of the determined set-up (eg. Power transducers with 2 force introductions in the opposite direction) or combination of several elements, a composite weighing element is obtained (see drawing on page 7) which is used for installation on vehicles.
