Abstract

Apparatus comprising an elongated body (11) which has a lug (13) projecting from one face of the body. The lug is formed by cutting in the body and deformation so as to extend in an inclined orientation relative to the face of the aforementioned body. The lug (13) is advantageously bevelled so as to facilitate its passage through the ring secured to a separable capsule closing a can or another container. When the body (11) is then tilted away from the bobbin with one end resting on the bobbin, the lug drives the ring and separates the closure cap from the bobbin.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   The present invention relates to a compact device intended to detach the separable capsule closing a can or another container provided with a closure system comprising a ring.

  Beverage cans and other containers are commonly provided with a closure system comprising a capsule separable from the lid or from the upper face of the container and provided with a ring fixed flat on the separable cap.

  This ring is intended to allow the separable closure capsule to be separated using the fingers. Gripping such a ring is however usually very difficult and often involves a risk of injury to the fingers.

  The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and, to this end, it provides a small compact device intended to facilitate the separation of the closure cap from the containers provided with a closure system comprising a ring.

  The apparatus according to the invention consists of a flat body of elongated shape having a lug which protrudes on a face of the body, this lug being cut out in the body and extending in an inclined orientation relative to the face of the body on which it protrudes.

  The lug is intended to be slid into the ring of a container and to hang this ring in order to facilitate the separation of the closure cap from the container in a single movement. The capsule is separated by a tilting movement of the body with one end of it resting on the face of the
 EMI1.1
 container to which the capsule is attached, the body of the device acting as a lever arm.

  The body of the device can be made of any resistant material such as metal, plastic or other. The outline of the body can be arbitrary, but it is advantageously chosen so as to facilitate handling.

  An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the attached drawings, and is described in the following.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

  In the tops: - Figure 1 is a plan view of a learned inventton appliance; - Figure 2 shows a longitudinal section in the device of Figure 1; - Figures 3 and 4 illustrate the use of the apparatus of Figure 1 on a drink can; - Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment of the device shown in Figure 1.

  As shown in Figure 1, the apparatus 10 according to the invention has a body 11 of elongated shape, the outline of the body can be arbitrary. At a certain distance from one end 12, the body has a cutout 16 by which a lug 13 is formed which protrudes from the lower face of the body 11 and extends in an inclined orientation relative to said lower face of the body (figure 2). The edge 15 of the lug 13 is preferably bevelled or thinned.

  The use of the apparatus according to the invention is illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4. To use the apparatus in order to open a can, the user takes between his fingers the arm 17 formed by the body 11 between the cutout 16 and its end 14, opposite the aforementioned end 12, and it passes the lug 13 in the ring 21 of the bobbin 20 that it wants to open (Figure 3). The user then prints a tilting movement by spreading said arm of the container (arrow A in FIG. 3) with the aforementioned end 12 of the body bearing on the bobbin. During this movement, the body 11 forming a lever arm, the lug 13 drives the ring 21 which, in turn, separates the closure cap 22 from the can.

   The opening thereof is thus made very easy, and this without risking injuring the user with his fingers. A beveled edge for the lug facilitates the passage of the latter in the ring.

  The body of the above-mentioned device can be produced in various forms offering a good grip on the arm and / or having an attractive appearance. For example, the arm 17 of the body of the device may have an appendage of any shape and / or profile. FIG. 5 represents an exemplary embodiment in which appendix 18 forms a figurine in trots dimensions. It goes without saying that the arm of the body of the apparatus can just as easily be provided with an appendage having a flat shape.
