<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Pour bien faire comprendre l'invention on en décrira ci-après, à titre d'exemples sans caractère limitatif, des formes d'exécution préférées en référence au dessin schématique annexé dans lequel : la figure 1 est une vue de face d'une partie d'un rideau selon l'invention, représenté en position de fermeture ; la figure 2 est une vue de profil du rideau de la figure 1, la figure 3 est une coupe verticale du rideau prise selon la ligne III-III de la figure 1 ; la figure 4 est une vue en bout partielle du rideau des figures l à 3, représenté en position repliée d'ouverture ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
la figure 5 est une vue en coupe verticale prise selon la ligne V-V de la figure 4 ;
la figure 6 montre, de profil, le dernier élément du rideau en position de fermeture verrouillée, la figure 7 est une vue partielle en plan montrant la commande de l'étanchéité latérale du rideau, la figure 8 montre une pièce pivotante commandant l'étanchéité latérale du rideau en fin de manoeuvre de fermeture de celui-ci, et la figure 9 montre la liaison du levier de commande de la manoeuvre du rideau avec le crochet de verrouillage du rideau en position ouverte ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

Curtain with articulated elements for closing passages.
The invention relates to a curtain intended to be deployed in a passage for closing off the latter and which, in the folded open position, occupies only a small volume.
Such curtains are known, intended in particular for the partitioning of car ferries. They consist of a succession of identical elements hinged together and designed, in the open position, to fit into each other at one end of the passage in a small space and, in the closed position, to deploy in the passage in order to close it by presenting a zig-zag shape in profile. Appropriate seals seal the curtain at the location of the articulations between the elements, while the vertical seal on each side of the curtain is achieved by clamping a movable panel with a zig-zag profile linked to the plating. of the ship.
In this area, new safety regulations have been recently adopted which allow in particular a certain rate of leaks in the sealing systems as well as a sometimes limited height of the curtain, thus making it possible to reduce the cost of the many curtains now required. on these ships.
According to a characteristic of the invention, the sealing along the edges of the panel is not carried out according to the zig-zag profile of the elements, but along a straight line. This straight line is determined by a continuous joint strip which, advantageously, extends on each side the transverse joints ensuring sealing at the level of the articulation between two successive elements. In the folded position of the elements, corresponding to the open position of the curtain, the continuous joint part folds along a fold line lying in the extension of the articulation between two consecutive elements, this folding being favored by parts guides fixed on the joint strip.
According to an additional characteristic of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The invention, the tightening of the continuous strip of joint, in the closed position of the curtain, is carried out by means of a tightening member articulated to the fixed part, which is actuated and locked in its tightening position by a toggle controlled by the curtain operating cylinder. Advantageously one of the elements of the toggle has an opening in which, when the toggle is locked, engages a lateral projection of the element of the curtain, thereby ensuring the holding of the latter.
According to another additional characteristic of the invention, the last element of the curtain, that is to say the lowest element in the case of a curtain hung on the ceiling of the opening, carries at its free end a transverse joint intended to engage the opposite edge of the opening and obliquely oriented locking members (advantageously at 450) which engage in corresponding oblique openings made in the fixed part, effectively locking the curtain against the stresses exerted in a plane perpendicular to the plane of deployment of the curtain.
Advantageously, a roller, carried by one of the toggle elements, engages at the end of the locking movement of the latter the lateral projection of the last curtain element by applying thereto, at the end of the closing movement, a thrust which compresses the seal against the edge and which promotes the engagement of the locking members in the oblique openings. Said ob] ic locking members can each be slidably mounted against the action of a spring, so that the refusal of one of them to engage in the corresponding opening of the edge does not block the locking the assembly.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the curtain operating cylinder, at the end of the closing phase, engages a pivoting part by rotating it by a determined angle which
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
control, by means of rods, the closing of the knee pads on both sides of the curtain, and therefore the tightening of the continuous joint and the locking of the curtain.
During the remainder of the operation of the curtain, a locking member prevents any accidental rotation of the pivoting part in the direction of actuation of the knee pads.
According to an additional characteristic, the invention provides, to carry out the control of the safety hook ensuring a locking of the open curtain independently of the lifting operation, to use the curtain operating cylinder. To this end, the curtain can be controlled by a lever acting on a hydraulic distributor controlling the operating cylinder and acting by means of connecting members on the one hand on the locking hook and, on the other hand hand, on a stop carried by the curtain at the end of opening.
The invention thus makes it possible to use a single jack to operate the curtain, to control the maintenance and lateral tightness of the curtain closed, and to control the locking hook, thereby allowing a particularly economical embodiment of this device.
To make the invention better understood, there will be described below, by way of examples without limitation, preferred embodiments with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a front view of a part a curtain according to the invention, shown in the closed position; Figure 2 is a side view of the curtain of Figure 1, Figure 3 is a vertical section of the curtain taken along line III-III of Figure 1; Figure 4 is a partial end view of the curtain of Figures 1 to 3, shown in the folded open position;
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Figure 5 is a vertical sectional view taken along the line V-V in Figure 4;
FIG. 6 shows, in profile, the last element of the curtain in the locked closed position, FIG. 7 is a partial plan view showing the control of the lateral sealing of the curtain, FIG. 8 shows a pivoting part controlling the sealing side of the curtain at the end of the closing operation thereof, and FIG. 9 shows the connection of the control lever for the operation of the curtain with the hook for locking the curtain in the open position;
With reference to FIGS. 1 to 5, a curtain is shown, made up, in a known manner, of a succession of metallic elements hinged together, the first element being fixed by way of example to the ceiling of the passage to be closed so that, in the open position, the curtain elements stack on top of each other at the top of the passage, occupying only a small footprint. In the closed position, the successive elements are oriented at 900 relative to each other, having a zigzag shape in profile, and the last element sealingly engages the floor and is locked in this position.
The transverse seal, constituted by a rubber belt 1 (or other elastic seal) fixed, by flat bars 2, on either side of the joint 3 connecting two successive elements 4,5 of the curtain, continues laterally, on each side, by an edge portion 6 which extends vertically over the entire height of the curtain. This border part 6 folds back on itself, between the elements 4,5, in the open position of the curtain and (position in FIGS. 4 and 5), and it takes a vertical orientation in the closed position of the curtain .
To facilitate the folding of the border part 6 inside the elements 1 and 2, pieces
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
guide 7 (for example of a substantially triangular shape) are fixed thereto symmetrically with respect to the desired fold line which corresponds to the joint 3.
The curtain, in its closed position, thus has over its entire height, on each side, a continuous lateral vertical seal formed by the edge 6 and the lateral sealing between the curtain and the plating can then be carried out in a particularly simple manner by tightening of the part of the border 6 projecting laterally from the curtain by a tightening system carried by the plating.
On its face facing the articulations 3, the joint edge 6 comprises two fingers 8,8 'arranged opposite each side of the fold line and perpendicular thereto. The fingers 8, 8 'are designed, passing from the open position to the closed position of the curtain, to come into mutual engagement and, like a toggle, to lock in the position in which they are aligned and which corresponds to the vertical position of the continuous joint 6. This arrangement of the fingers 8, 8 ′ makes it possible to prevent, when the elements of the curtain fold up to pass into the open position, the part of the continuous joint 6 being between two successive elements accidentally folds outwards instead of normally folding inwards, between the elements.
In Figure 7 there is shown at 10 the fixed part, over the entire height of which is articulated a flat iron 9 intended to clamp the protruding part of the side seal 6. The pivoting control of the flat iron 9, between its shown clamping position in solid lines and its rest position shown in dotted lines, is ensured by a toggle formed by the levers 11, 12, this toggle ensuring the actuation and locking of the flat iron 9. As will be seen below with reference to the figure 8, the actuation of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
knee support 11, 12 is produced, by means of rods, by the curtain operating cylinder.
As can be seen in FIG. 7, the lever II comprises an orifice 13 in which, in the locking position of the toggle joint, a part 14 is secured to the curtain element 14 ′, which ensures that it is held .
In Figure 7 there is shown at 39 a finger projecting from the lateral end of the element 14 and which, in the closed position of this element, comes to rest on a console 40 projecting from the fixed part . One element in two includes such a finger resting on such a console to position the curtain in the closed position.
So that the fingers 39 fitted to the elements of the curtain do not abut, during the closing and opening movements of the curtain, against the brackets 40 intended to serve as a support for the fingers 39 of the elements situated above, the brackets 40 are increasing length going down along the fixed part, while the projecting part of the fingers 39 decreases when going from the highest element to the lowest element (see Figure 1).
As shown in Figure 6, the lowest element 14 "of the curtain engages the floor 15 by a transverse joint 16, and it is provided with a series of blades 17 oriented at 450 and which make projection at the lower end of the 14 "element. These blades 17 are intended to enter holes 18, of the same orientation, in the floor 15, to ensure the holding of the element 14 "and the tightening of the joint 16. The blades 17 are mounted to slide on the element 14, against the action of springs 19, so that the refusal of a blade 17 to enter the corresponding orifice 18 causes the erasure of this blade without thus blocking the assembly.
So that the blades 17 are introduced at 45 into the holes 18, it is advisable that at the end of the movement
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
element 14 "moves in a direction inclined at 45. For this purpose, the guide rails 20 carried by the plating and guiding the carriage 21 linked to element 14" have at their lower end an inclination at 450 .
As seen in Figure 7, the lever 11 of the toggle carries, below its orifice 13, a roller 22 intended, during the passage of the toggle from its rest position to its locking position, to engage the part 14 integral with the lowest element 14 "to thus apply to the element 14" a sudden push in the direction of closing which compresses the seal 16 and helps the engagement of the blades 17 in the orifices 18.
FIG. 8 shows a pivoting part 23 intended, at the end of the output stroke of the operating cylinder 24 ensuring the closing of the curtain, to be engaged by this cylinder to effect limited pivoting clockwise. The part 23 is coupled, on either side of its pivot axis 25, to two rods 26, 26 'each actuating a lateral toggle 11,12 so that the pivoting of the part 23 in the clockwise direction, by these rods 26, 26 ′, the tightening of the lateral seal 6 on each side of the curtain. During this additional displacement of the jack 24 controlling the pivoting of the part 23, the cables 27 for controlling the curtain tend to take up slack.
To make up for this slack, the pivoting part 23 has forwardly an extension 28 equipped with a roller 29 which engages the cables 27 while realizing the tension thereof.
During the rest of the operation of the curtain, that is to say when the actuating cylinder 24 does not actuate the pivoting part 23, an accidental pivoting of this part 23 in the clockwise direction is prevented by a rod 30 linked to Exhibit 23.
As is known, a hook 31 articulated on the ceiling and independent of the operation of the curtain ensures by safety a locking of the curtain pn
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
folded open position. The invention makes it possible to avoid the use of a particular jack to control the erasure of this hook at the start of the curtain closing process. It also makes it possible to suppress the control sequences of the curtain obtained electrically, with the risks of malfunction in the event of damage. Thus, the operations of operating the curtain, locking, sealing and safety can be carried out by a single jack.
To this end, according to the embodiment shown in FIG. 9, the control member such as the bent lever 34 is articulated to a sliding rod 33, which is connected by an articulated rod 35 to a hydraulic distributor 36.
The lever 34 being in its position N, the hydraulic distributor 36 closes the inlet and the outlet of the single jack. To open the curtain, the lever is lifted from position N to position 0, which causes the distributor 36 to push downwards through the rods 33 and 35 and therefore the pressure is sent to the cylinder for opening. . Arrived at the end of opening the curtain (not shown in Figure 9) pushes, by the part 32 that it carries, on the part 37 integral with the rod 33, which brings the lever 34 and the distributor 36 to the position N, after the package of elements has moved aside the safety hook 31 by action on the ramp part thereof. The hook 31 closes by gravity to lock the package of elements.
To close the curtain, the lever 31 is brought to the position FI, which actuates the distributor 36 in the opening direction, removing any weight of the package of elements on the hook 31. Continuing the rotation of the lever up to position F2, the rod 33 spreads, by its cleat 38, the hook 31.
By continuing to rotate the lever to position F3, the rods 33 and 35 bring the distributor 36 to the position ensuring closure. In
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
end of curtain closure and locking, the rods 33 and 35 are brought back to position N by a conventional system of rods and references, not shown, actuated by one of the members 9, 11, 23, 26 or 26 ' .
It will also be noted that the operating cables, which ensure the raising and lowering of the curtain, are located at the lateral ends of the curtain or can be distributed over the width of the curtain depending on the range.
It will be understood that the above description has been given by way of example, without limitation, and that additions or constructive modifications could be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
