bekomen. bekomen.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
pijnlijke aangelegenheid.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

Method of manufacturing a pain softener intended for epilation and pain softener thereby
EMI1.1
obtained. obtained.
- ------------------------------------------ - - - - - - - This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a pain softener specifically intended for use in epilation, as well as to the pain softener obtained by this method.
In the first place, the invention relates to a product which is intended to relieve the pain during depilation by means of an electrically driven epilator, but which can also be used in the second place in other epilation techniques, the pain softener preferably being used just before depilation should be applied to the affected skin. Although epilators are built better and better and that they cause less pain, epilation remains one
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
painful affair. The present invention provides the manufacture of a pain softener which is especially designed to minimize pain during epilation.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a pain softener intended for epilation, characterized in that it is based on a product having at least one pain-relieving component from the group consisting of menthol, menthyl ethoxyacetate, methylvalerate, methyllactate, meprylcaine hydrochloride and metabutoxycaine hydrochloride.
In the preferred embodiment, an amount of pain-relieving component of 0.5 to 10% of the total is used as the starting point.
The present invention also relates to a pain softener obtained according to the aforementioned method, characterized in that at least one degreasing component is also added to it.
Preferably this component consists of alcohol, more particularly still a choice will be made from the group formed by methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
isopropyl alcohol and butyl alcohol. This degreasing component or degreasing components, which can also function as a solvent for the analgesic component, preferably form 50 to 99.5% of the total amount.
According to yet another special embodiment, the pain softener, optionally in combination with one or more of the aforementioned degreasing components, also contains at least one disinfecting component. Preferably, one or more components are employed for this purpose from the group consisting of ether, methyl ethyl ketone, acetone and methylene chloride. The amount preferably represents 0 to 20% of the total.
In the most preferred embodiment, the pain reliever in the combination of at least one pain-relieving component consists of the group consisting of menthol, methyl ethoxyacetate, methylvalerate, methyllactate, meprylcaine hydrochloride and metabutoxycaine hydrochloride; at least one degreasing component from the group of methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol or butyl alcohol and at least one disinfectant component from the group formed by ether, methyl ethyl ketone,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
acetone and methylene chloride, where the component or components used, respectively, from the former group represent 1 to 3% of the total, from the second group represent 87 to 96% of the total and from the third group represent 3 to 10% of the total .
The present invention also relates to a pain softener to be used during epilation, characterized in that it consists of the combination of at least one analgesic component, at least one degreasing component and at least one disinfecting component, regardless of the products used for this purpose. After all, this combination has the effect that the pain softener has a triple analgesic effect directly and indirectly. The analgesic component acts directly on the skin to be treated.
The degreasing component is primarily intended to degrease the hairs, resulting in a better engagement of the epilator on the hairs, thereby avoiding that the gripping elements still slide over d & hairs over a certain distance and thus also being avoided that, during this extended period, prior
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a pulling sensation is already being caused. The disinfectant component has the indirect effect of avoiding a long-lasting painful feeling afterwards. It is clear that the components of the different groups also partly support each other's operation. Thus, the aforementioned antiseptic components, namely the ether, the methyl ethyl ketone, the acetone or the methylene chloride also exert a degreasing effect.
It is clear that the pain softener may have other components. For example, a certain amount of propylene glycol can be added to prevent the product from drying out immediately. The amount added is preferably 5 to 15%, and more specifically still 10%.
A perfume can be added to mask the strong odor of menthol. Preferably use is made of such a composition that the product can be easily sprayed, in other words it is tradable in aerosol cans.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
The present invention is by no means limited to the compositions described by way of examples, but can be realized according to different variants without departing from the scope of the invention.
