Description

AUSTRALIA
Patent Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD
PATENT
LIVE SLJRFWATCH AUSTRALIA "t 1 o*.
*9 0 4* ec ~0 0 C 0 The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: 1 LIVE SURFWATCH AUSTRALIA This invention relates to the ability to access live video surf seaways reports: Many people are now involved either recreationally or professionally with surfing fishing. Whilst there has been reporting of surf sea conditions over the airwaves television there has never been to date live video access available to the public at their demand, in Australia.
This invention makes this all possible.
This invention marries together the current technology of the Internet with the want for a better system of reporting beach, surf bar conditions. It will now no longer be necessary to spend countless hours driving around looking for that ideal wave or hooking up your boat, launching it to discover the bar entrance is unsuitable for crossing. In essence this invention is about giving up to the minute live video footage of the various locations thus saving the user a great deal of time. This system can then also be used in the same way for live access to ski slopes around Australia.
S" 1. Delivery operation: The invention works on a system of using any type of video camera appliance positioned in all major surfing areas, seaways, ski slopes linked via the Internet.
*At each location there is positioned a camera attached to a PC personal computer) and a modem. The images are captured through the camera onto the personal computer by way of a capture card then video streamed to the server. On activation the computer will dial up via the modem through the access of a telephone line to the Live Surfwatch terminal server into which all cameras are connected The terminal server is then hooked into the internet provider. At this point live video imaging is streamed direct from the surf locations through to the main internet provider machine onto the Live Surfwatch homepage. The internet provider machine then requires a specialised software package to push deliver live images to the end user. This is achieved by way of a video conferencing software.
2. Loading operation: The end user to access this facility dials up via the internet the Live Sufwatch homepage at www.surfwatch net.au The end user uses a windows application to then view the video images at no cost to the end user.
3. Secondary operation: Live Surfwatch will also operate a system of coin operated booths for the public. These are linked directly to our homepage and on a coin being deposited much the same as a pinball machine the computer is activated calls up the homepage via a modem a telephone line which then delivers the video images to the booth screen. These are hereafter called Surf Booths RA4,
