Abstract

Lead projectiles produce gases containing lead powder when they are shot, which poses a health risk. For this reason, special ventilation regulations have to be respected in indoor shooting facilities. The lead residue left during outdoor shooting is also harmful to the environment and has to be collected and disposed of. The necessary precautions relating to lead projectiles in terms of the protection of human beings and the environment are complicated and expensive. According to the invention, the projectile (1) consists of a lead-free material with a density greater than 5 g/cm<3>.
