Abstract

A mounting (120, 122) for a luggage-carrier arrangement to be installed on the roof (156) of a motor vehicle comprises at least one carrier element (110) which is transversally arranged to the length of the motor vehicle. The mounting spans at least partially, with one of its sections (140), the stable region (136, 138) of the roof of the motor vehicle, adjacent for example to a door (148). The mounting may be displaced between a ceiling edge formed at that location and the roof of the motor vehicle. Preferably, the mounting is movable along the roof under the supports (116) of the carrier elements which act as stops.
