Description

A SWIMMING AID DEVICE

This invention relates to improvements in devices for swimming aides. It is a one breath inflation system. It comprises of an inflatable bladder placed into or under a U. V. or non U. V. lycra or any other suitable material garment.

Most people who perish in the sea, rivers, lakes or dams do so not because of injury but of exhaustion, thus sinking. These problems are overcome by the present invention which allows the person in the water to inflate the device with one breath, enabling the person to stay on the surface of the water. Even if the person was injured in such a way that they could not inflate their own 'Aqua U. V.' someone else could inflate the bladder for them so they would be on the surface until help arrived. Thus greatly increasing their chances of survival.

This present invention is a stylish, comfortable, modern swimming aid available in a large range of sizes, colours and designs virtually undetectable until inflation and so would appeal to a vast amount of recreational or professional people engaged in any water activity.

The bladder may be made from flexible P.V.C. or any other suitable material and will come in two configurations, one back opening and one front opening. Sizes of the bladder will vary to suit the size of the garment from small child to large adult.

To assist with the understanding of the invention reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings which will show one example of the invention.

Fig. 1 Shows a front opening bladder installed in one example of a U.V. or non U.V. Lycra or any other suitable material garment according to this invention. Fig. 2 Shows one example of the front opening bladder device according to this invention.

Fig. 3 Shows one example of the back opening bladder device according to this invention.

Fig. 4 Shows one example of the back opening bladder device installed into or under a U.V. or non U.V. lycra or any other suitable material suit.

Referring to Fig. 1 it can be seen that the Aqua U.V. swimming aid device according to this invention comprises of a flexible P.V.C. or any suitable material bladder 2 installed into or under a U.V. or non U.V. lycra or any other suitable material suit 1. When a person is in distress or before entering the water the Aqua U.V. maybe inflated by the person wearing the suit or by another person by removing the end cap 5 and exhaling into the mouth piece 6 the exhaled air would travel down the P.V.C. tubing 3 and passing the one way valve 4 and into the bladder 2 causing the bladder to inflate thus keeping the person on the surface until help arrives or they reach safety. When the inflated bladder 2 is no longer required the person may deflate it by removing the end cap 5 and compressing the one way valve 4.

The Aqua U.V. bladder in this invention comes in two configurations one being a front opening design Fig. 2 and a back opening design Fig. 3 these designs being necessary to accommodate front and back opening lycra or any other suitable material suits without losing the ability of the bladder to keep a person afloat with their face up.

Claims

The claims defining the invention are as follows:

1. An inflatable swimming aid device comprising of an inflatable bladder secured into or under any U.V. or non U.V. lycra or any other suitable material suit.

2. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device of claim one maybe inflated by the person wearing the device or by another person.

3. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device of claim one . The person wearing the suit needs only to exhale one full breath into the bladder to stay afloat.

4. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device of claim one. The bladder will come in two configurations being one back opening and one front opening.

5. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device of claim one. If extra floatation is required more than one breath can be exhaled into the bladder.

6. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device of claim one. Because of its configuration it will allow a person to float face up.

7. The Aqua U.V. swimming aid device substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
