TECHNICAL FIELD
[01] The present invention herein relates to voting machine, more particularly, to a system and method for secure electronic voting.
BACKGROUND
[02] Election is a process by which people elect their representative by voting and this process is employed in both public sector as well as government sector. People cast their vote in order to elect their representative at national, state or district level. Also, elections are conducted in schools, colleges, companies, industries to elect their representatives.
[03] In today's world, elections are conducted using ballot system or electronic voting machines (EVM). However, both in ballot and EVM system of the election there is a risk of vote tampering.
[04] US4010353A, discloses an electronic voting machine with cathode ray tube display includes a processor section, a plurality of peripheral units which interconnected by a two-way street or bus system. However, this invention deals with open voting.
[051 US7036730B2, discloses an electronic voting apparatus which uses processor, voter interface, voting session identifier, memory and display for receiving voting information. This invention also provides a tangible medium which separates from the memory; however, this invention does not use any verification before voting.
[06] US4015106A, discloses an electronic voting machine which employs a microprocessor and digital techniques in a voting machine and provides political as well as social requirements of a voting systems. However, this invention uses complex system for voting.
[071 The above mentioned prior art states that there is a need for a system which provides secure electronic voting with high accuracy and negligible chance of tampering with votes.

[0019] Figure 1, illustrates architecture of the present invention.
[0020] Figure 2, illustrates flowchart of the present invention.
[0021] The figures depict an embodiment of the present disclosure for the purpose of illustration and understanding only.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0022] Some embodiments of this disclosure, illustrating all its features, will now be discussed in detail.
[0023] In one implementation, present invention provides secure electronic voting which connects Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) with the database of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) via GPRS network.
[0024] The disclosure herein, the electronic voting machine (104) with iris scanner (100) collects biometric information and the camera (101) captures the live photograph of the voter. The iris scanner (100) compares the iris scan of voter with database and allow for voting only if match is successful.
[0025] Referring to figure 1, illustrates the architecture of present invention which consists of an iris scanner (100), a camera (101), GPRS(102), UIDAI database server (103), an electronic voting machine (104) and a computing unit (105).
[0026] Referring to figure 1, the electronic voting machine (104) is installed with the iris scanner (100), the camera (101), the computing unit (105) and the GPRS network (102).
[00271 In another embodiment, the computing unit (105) collects and process the data received by the camera (101) and the iris scanner (100).
[00281 In another embodiment, the computing unit (105) communicates with the UIDAI database server (103) through the GPRS network (102) using internet.
[0029] In another embodiment, the iris scanner (100) scans the iris of the voter if the iris matches with the data base of UIDAI and allows the person to vote by green alert on the electronic voting machine.
[00301 In another embodiment, if the person cast the vote once then voting machine rejects the next time.
[00311 Referring to figure 2, represents the flowchart for secure electronic voting in which verifies the voter ID number and Aadhaar number, and compares the iris scan with UIDAI database, only after information matching, the person allows to cast the vote.
[0032] In another embodiment, enters the voter ID number along with the Aadhaar card number in the electronic voting machine (104).
[00331 In another embodiment, if record finds, the iris scanner (100) scans the iris of the voter and compares with the UIDAI database (103).
[0034] In another embodiment, captures the real time image of the voter if information matches with the database and allow the voter for voting byshowing green alert.
[00351 In another embodiment, after capturing the real time image of the voter, candidate list displays on the screen of the electronic voting machine (104).
[00361 In another embodiment, records the vote after the confirmation.
[00371 In other embodiment, if person is already cast the vote then vote rejects and shows the red alert.
[00381 In the present embodiment, eradicate the tampering with votes by allowing the person to cast the vote once only.
[00391 In an exemplary embodiment, the voter enters the voter ID number as well as Aadhaar number and after finding record, the electronic voting machine (104) with the iris scanner (100) scans biometric information and process data through the computing unit (105) and communicates with the UIDAI database server (103) using the GPRS network (102) and the camera (101) captures the live photograph of the voter. The iris scanner (100) compares the iris scan of voter with database and allow for voting only if match is successful, otherwise generates red alert.
[0040] In another embodiment, provides security as without iris scanningand matching, does not allow the person to cast the vote.
[0041] In another embodiment, adjusts the movable iris scanner accordingthe height of the person.
[0042] In another embodiment, uses red alert when iris scan does notmatch with database and uses green alert for successful iris scan matches.
[00431 Some of the embodiments may be further upgraded uponthe study performed further.
