Description

Description
Background:
Pivot Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as the Pivot Institute) is a Registered Training Organisation, offering accredited training in areas including Management, Business, Education Services, Health and Safety and Mining. The Pivot Institute work closely with several Mines offering qualifications including: RII20415 Certificate II in Underground Metalliferous Mining, RII30315 Certificate III in Underground Metalliferous Mining, BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management. Many of The Pivot Institute's students are working in the mining sector, many of which are undergoing traineeships. Additionally, the Company hold many partnerships with mine sites in Western Australia. The partnerships include the delivery of RIIWHS202D Enter and Work in Confined Spaces and RIIWHS204D Work Safely at Heights. Working closely with their Mining Partners, the Pivot Institute realised a niche for the workers in this area.
As with all high-risk industries, workers in the mining sector are required to complete training and prove competence by providing evidence of training. With the most frequent offering of an A4 record of achievement, this is quite difficult to manage sufficiently. The Company regards this practice as not being practical. Frequent issues occurring such as lost certificates or damaged certificates jeopardises the authenticity and the reliability on whether individuals hold the required competencies, or not. With the in mind, the Company visioned the Mining Passport.
The Mining Passport has an attractive design resembling a standard Australian Passport. In place of travel stamps, there is a record of the qualification obtained by the owner. This has been designed to allow documents to be easily stored in one easy place. The size is manageable and can easily fit in the owner's pocket. The Mining Passport is ideal for workers commencing on new sites as contractors or as a new starter.
Summary of Invention:
The mining passport is A6 in size. It is similar in style and size to a standard Australian Passport. On the inside cover, there are the owner's details. There are approx. 16 pages inside the passport. The Pivot Institute have designed mini versions of our Certificates, Records of Achievements, and Statement of Attainment. These will be printed as stickers and fixed to the passport as the passport owner obtains nationally accredited competencies .
On the last 2 pages of the passport there are 4 card holder pockets, 2 per page. These are for the owner to store any cards or licences they have obtained. This might include: White Card or Working at Heights training record; which usually are supplied as a card record.
The information contained in the passports, will be the same as in any certificate issued by the Pivot Institute. It will be an accurate and authentic record of the participant's qualifications .
Description of Embodiments • The cover is navy in colour and is made of cardboard with a laminate . • Inside pages are blue in colour with a Swirl design pattern. • Finished size 90 x 125mm. • Plastic card pockets are placed at the back of the booklet. 96 5 mm in size. • Certificates and Statements are printed on sticker labels and are 76 x 105 mm in size.
