[0007] The dog coat itself is made from four layers of material. The inner shell is a single piece of polyester material 6 that covers (in a saddle like fashion) the upper region of the dog torso extending from the front withers 7 back to the rear of the dog hindquarters (croup) 8 and both lateral sides of the dog's body 9 and the underbelly 10. The coat is ergonomically designed to cover the top portion of the dog torso 11 and the jacket does not hinder movement or legs of the dog. [0008] The internal lining of the coat that is directly in contact with the dog fur/skin is Polyester Fabric Taffeta Cloth 12 and the insulation material between the external shell and internal lining material is PolyFill.

[0009] The outer shell is made from a piece of polyester material of shorter length. This stitched to the inner shell along the hemline 13 and also stitched horizontally 14 across the length of the jacket and the rear to form closed pockets. The front is hemmed and not stitched down which provides a mouth sealable with Velcro 15 for the entry to the pocket tunnels. The outer shell has a metal D-ring attached for walking or hanging garment as required 16. The front of the jacket is secured by Velcro padded straps and click-buckle adjustable strap 17.

1. Dog garment with an innovative design construction as defined in Description category of this submission/application.

2. The combination defined in claim 1 provides a comfortable and contoured fit for the dog wearing the garment.

3. The stitched outer shell not only provides extra protection from the elements it also serves as the external layer of the horizontal pockets.

4. The combination defined in Claim 3 provides a unique jacket formation with a secured fit on active dogs without hindering a dog's general movement or activities. The combination of claims defined in Claim 1, Claim 2, Claim 3 and Claim 4 is an innovative dog coat the first of it's kind
