DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The embodiments herein and the various features and advantageous details thereof are explained with reference to one or more non-limiting embodiment in the following description. Description of well-known components and processing techniques are omitted so as to not unnecessarily obscure the embodiments herein. The examples used herein are intended merely to facilitate an understanding of ways in which the embodiments herein may be practiced and to further enable those of skill in the art to practice the embodiments herein. Accordingly, the examples should not be construed as limiting the scope of the embodiments herein.
The description hereinafter, of the specific embodiments will so fully reveal the general nature of the embodiments herein that others can, by applying current knowledge, readily modify and/or adapt for various applications such specific embodiments without departing from the generic concept, and, therefore, such adaptations and modifications should and are intended to be comprehended within the meaning and range of equivalents of the disclosed embodiments. It is to be understood that the phraseology or terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and not of limitation. Therefore, while the embodiments herein have been described in terms of preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the embodiments herein can be practiced with modification within the spirit and scope of the embodiments as described herein.
Referring to Figure, a constructional anchor device 100 and its various components are shown. In Fig. 1, the constructional anchor device 100 is shown having an anchor means 110. The anchor 110 resists movement of a structure supported thereon in any direction due to the various forces acting on the constructional support device 100 by taking into consideration the physical phenomena of skin friction and soil strata in its design.
The anchor means 110, or angular member, in an embodiment, may include tubular pipes or “batter piles” to secure or tie down various structures such as temporary buildings,
2015258335 23 Nov 2015 storage containers, park benches and tables, etc. In one embodiment, the anchor means is attached to an engaging member 108 also known as a “pile cap”. The engaging member
108 is connected to the structure such as a beam 106 to secure the structure.
The system has been designed to be used to tie down items, but not limited to, the following applications.
Park benches and tables
Water tanks shipping containers
Temporary housing structures
Newly planted trees
Grape trestles for vineyards
Boat anchoring to shore line
Shade sail and tensile structures
Anti-theft of building site equipment
Playground equipment.
In severe adverse weather conditions, a structure can be blown away. The present invention enables the structure to stay firmly grounded. In the event or high chance of theft, a structure can also be tied down or attached to the system also.
The system has not been designed as a bearing type foundation but rather it is to act as a 20 tie down or holding point in the ground stopping a structure from uplifting or overturning.
The pile driven into the ground can be the shape of a circle, square or rectangle and of varying thickness, size and material types depending on the application and holding capacity required of the anchor. The length of the pile in the ground is determined by wind loadings applied to a structure and the soil type the pile will be driven into. A fixing 25 point or engaging member is attached to the pile or number of piles allowing the user to attach a wire, chain, strap, rope or angle from the pile to the structure above.
Figure 2 shows an example and is not restricted to a transportable building been placed on blocks on the ground. The pile has been driven by the user at an angle. A fixing point or engaging member is then attached to the pile allowing a wire rope to be connected from the angular pile to the building above. When the pile is installed into the ground at an angle it creates a wedge like hold in the ground, pressing against the soil around it and along the length of the pile. This in turn stops the building from uplifting or overturning as it pulls on the anchor above in a weather event. In order for the pile to be withdrawn it would need to rotate in the ground. However, the soils surrounding the pile prevent withdrawal of the pile from the ground.
Figure 3 shows a fin type configuration 118 which is connected to a tube style anchor as an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 shows an anchor attached to a cable 116 to tie down a structure as an embodiment of the present invention.
TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENTS AND ECONOMICAL SIGNIFICANCE
The technical advancements offered by the constructional foundation device as described in the present disclosure, which add to the economic significance of the disclosure, include the realization of:
a) A more stable and reliable constructional anchor system for use in varied construction applications;
b) A comparatively less expansive constructional anchor system as compared to conventional constructional footings or foundation supports;
c) An easy to implement constructional anchoring support system that is less affected by soil condition.
d) Providing an anchor that is easy to install and saves on time and effort of a labour and costs of installation.
e) Providing an anchor that eliminates the need for heavy earth moving machinery.
