Description

Rotahatch Specification (1) This invention/innovation relates to a secure non retrievable delivery door that utilizes a horizontally mounted, cylindania shaped over turning hatch to deposit parcels/mail/packages into an enclosure e.g. (Parcel delivery/receiving safe). Currently there are numerous different non retrieval door designs used in a wide range of applications. All of them have fundamental flaws in that they restrict packages that can be received/deposited to a very small size relative to the dimensions or volume of the enclosure that they are fitted to. Or that the door action interferes with the enclosures holding area. The Rotahatch Is a vast improvement allowing much larger packages to be deposited into any given enclosure size yet will not interfere into the holding area of an enclosure allowing maximum storage space for items. A beneficial example Is to reduce the dimensions of (Parcel Safes) when fitted to Homes and Businesses. This will minimize the encroachment of a (Parcel Safes) appearance on the streetscape while still making it possible to receive acceptably large and multiple various size packages into any given enclosure size. The Rotahatch was primarily designed to Improve package size access Into parcel delivery safes that are installed at Homes/Businesses while being used in conjunction with innovation (2012100041) to improve security and provide proof of delivery. There may be numerous other uses for such a door where space is limited, security required and maximum size package transfer needed.

Best Method (2), The Rotahatch utilizes a centrally pivoting cylindania shaped hatch that rotates in the horizontal plain. The Rotahatch sits in an enclosure in the downward receiving position blocking access to the Parcel receipt chamber beneath or to the rear of the hatch until a delivery is placed Into the hatch. The deliverer then rotates the Rotahatch in an upward direction. With this motion the hatch closes off the receiving port thus blocking all access to the delivery and safe contents from the outside. The deliverer continues to rotate the hatch into its fully upward position opening the internal port for the package to pass Into the safe. The Deliverer then rotates the Rotahatch back Into its lowered position still preventing access to the safes internals. The Rotahatch is now ready for the next delivery. This simple design prevents any contents or deliveries being retrieved back through the Rotahatch providing a safe method of multiple package delivery whilst importantly maximising the package size for any given enclosure e.g (Parcel delivery/receiving safe) dimensions.
