Description

AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT FLUSH FITTING SCAFFOLD CLIPS "Ronnie Clip" The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: 'The invention is a simple means of secuing scaffold planks to scaffold tube'.
SINGLE CLIP DOUBLE (LIP FLUSH FITTING SCAFFOLD CLIPS
O
0 For many years scaffold planks have been held onto scaffold tubes by lashing them down S with wire or rope. Lashing down planks is labor intensive, time consuming and oO unnecessary, extra work.
This invention has been specifically designed to allow scaffold planks to be held onto scaffold tubes without having to lift up and separate the planks to lash them to the scaffold tubes with wire or rope.
00 By using this invention the scaffold builder/rigger can safely stand or kneel on the planks and slide the clips into position.
The slim design of the clips allows the scaffold planks to be removed or replaced easily c with no need to use lashing as has been done in the past. Also, the low profile top edge eliminates the tripping hazards that wire or rope lashing causes when it is tied around and across planks.
The clips are preferably made of metal, however other materials could be used. The clips would be thin enough to fit between the planks without having to spread the planks too far apart. The clips will be strong enough to hold the scaffold planks onto the scaffold securely, to a standard equal to the intended use of the scaffold.
The clips can be better understood with reference to the attached drawings: Drawing TM-001 shows scaffold clips being used to hold down scaffold planks.
Drawing TM-002 shows detail of a single clip for use as left and right hand clips, which are used on the outer scaffold planks.
Drawing TM-003 shows detail of a double clip for use between scaffold planks.
From the drawings TM-002 and 003 it can been seen that: Dimension is less than the scaffold plate thickness.
Dimension is slightly larger than the scaffold tube outside diameter.
Dimension is the combined dimensions of the scaffold plank thickness plus the outside diameter of the scaffold tube.
Dimension will allow the clip to hang and be slid along a scaffold tube preventing the clip from being accidentally dropped during scaffold construction.
