Description

tn TUBELESS STETHOSCOPE a 00 For decades stethoscopes used by health professionals to listen to the heart, chest, lungs ,blood vessels and bowel sounds have consisted of a plastic tube and two ear parts through ,1 which the body sounds can be transferred and listened. This innovation has been specifically In rr, devised in order to provide a modified ,electronically equipped stethoscope to be able to transmit any kind of body sounds to the examinner's ears by preserving their natural quality V) without using any tubes or wires or V shape ear parts so the examinner will not need to keep a specifically short distance between examinee and him/herself and also the examiner will be able to adjust the volume of the sound by using an electronic volume adjusting device provided.
The present invention relates to a tubeless electronic stethoscope and in particular to a medical device adapted to transfer human or animal body sounds to the examiner's ear in a considerable distance without using plastic tubes or wires or ordinary ear parts.
According to the present invention there is provided a low frequency microphone which is sensitive to the body sounds frequencies and an electronic processor with infrared transmitting ability which is capable of recieving the sounds and changing them to infrared waves and sending them to the small ear piece in examiner's ear who could be staying in significant distance of many meters from the patient without using any wires or tubes.
Tubeless stethoscope is preferably made from plastic material for its diaphragm and cover case of its electronic boards as well as metal for its microphone and speaker(s) and two main rechargable batteries and main switch base, however other materilas can also be used.
For example metal sound chamber.
Ordinary size of the tubeless stethoscope is as big as an ordinary computer mouse .However it could be made in much smaller or bigger sizes.
t) One embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to the
C
accompanying drawing in which: FIGs 1-4 are prespective view of tubeless stethoscope in accordance with the present 00 invention.
According to the embodiment of the figure 1 there is a diaphragm 1 which is attached to C, a sealed plastic or metal sound chamber 2 and is to be placed on examinee's body rr, (usually chest or abdomen), a low frequency microphone 3 placed into the upper portion of the sound chamber to receive the sound waves and change them into the electronic tV signals,an electronic amplifier-transmitter 4 to receive the electronic signals and make it audible and transfer it to an optional speaker equipped with a volume adjusting device and also to send them in form of infrared waves to a remote earpeice 5 (figure3)which is equipped with a small rechargable battery 6 and an infrared receptor 7 a Modifier 8 which changes the infrared waves into electronic signals and a small speaker 9 which changes electronic signals into the sound waves audible for examiner; amplifier-transmitter is equipped with a rechargable 12v battery 10 and a charger 11 (figure 1 )to charge the earpeice battery and a main on and off switch. There could be an optional speakerl3 and adjusting volumel2 to broadcast sounds.
Transmitter part of tubeless stethoscope could be designed to use infrared or any other electromagnetic waves or radio waves for this purpose.

Claims (4)

1. A tubeless and cordless electronic stethoscope comprising a wireless transmitting device and an electronic recieving ear peice. 00
2. A stethoscope as claimed in claim 1, inwhich the diaphragm is equipped with a C microphone and a transmitter system or blue tooth device to send the waves across without using tubes or wires or fibers. V)
3. A stethoscope according to any claims 1 and 2 wherein the electronic cordless Sreceiving system and speaker are used.
4. A stethoscope according to any of one of the claims 1-3 inwhich rechargable batteries and sound amplifier are used A stethoscope substantially as herein before described with reference to figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawings. Dr Sean Tari 27 April 2005
