Abstract

Disclosed is a limiting wall of a glass smelting plant, said limiting wall being impinged upon by a glass melt and being more particularly a passage or wall substantially consisting of aluminium zircon silicate or similar, provided with a cooling system in order to reduce the temperature of the limiting wall. The cooling system is at least partially arranged in the limiting wall (2). Bores (8) are provided in the limiting wall (2) in order to receive tubes (9) guiding a cooling medium. The tubes (9) are disposed in the limiting wall in such a way that even after corrosive removal of the limiting wall by the glass melt, said glass melt solidifies on said tubes (9) or in the immediate vicinity thereof (9). The solidified glass melt substantially assumes the shape and function of the defining wall (2). .
