Abstract
The invention relates to the field of chemistry, especially to nanowires which can be used, for example, in catalysts. The aim of the invention is to provide nanowires which have a metallisation layer which can be controlled in terms of its thickness and length, and which are easy and cheap to produce. To this end, said nanowires consist of a polymer nucleus which is formed by at least one synthetic, hydrophobic polyelectrolyte molecule, and a metallic layer which partially or fully covers the polymer nucleus. The invention also relates to a method for producing nanowires, according to which at least one synthetic, hydrophobic polyelectrolyte molecule, in the form of a polymer nucleus in an aqueous solution, is brought into contact with a liquid having a pH value in the same range as that of the aqueous polyelectrolyte molecule solution, and containing metals and/or metallic compounds in a dissolved, colloidal or micellar state.
