A fork-lift truck (1) having fork arms (5, 6) which are laterally displaceable in guides of the fork carrier by means of a drive (9), and having an auxiliary device for coupling containers (4) or the like, is intended to be further developed, preferably for the purpose of receiving containers (4) for storing dangerous substances and liquids, in such a way that, using it, containers (4) can also be placed in receiving troughs (3) in a simple and reliable manner and lifted out of them and transported when the customary supports (10, 11) for the fork arms (5, 6) of the containers (4) are not accessible.
