Abstract
The system (1) has a drive shaft (3) comprising modular units that are formed from two propellers (2). Multiple electric drives (4) are arranged on the drive shaft. Generators (9) form second modular units as a power supply for the electric drives. A control unit forms third modular units for selectively activating and controlling the electric drives and the generators. The generators are arranged in a nose region of a ship. The electrical drives are arranged in a tail region of the ship. The electric drives are mounted on base plates.
