Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device and method for remodeling a mitral valve annulus adjacent to a coronary vein sinus (22).SOLUTION: The medical device and method for remodeling the mitral valve annulus adjacent to the coronary vein sinus (22) is provided with an elongate body (40) having a proximal end (42) and a distal end (44). The elongate body (40) is movable from a first flexible configuration for transluminal delivery to at least a portion of the coronary vein sinus (22) to a second configuration for remodeling the mitral valve annulus. This medical device is a forming element mounted to the elongate body and is also provided with a forming element for operating the elongate body from a first supplying configuration to a second remodeling configuration.
