Abstract

A conductor clamping device has a retaining area (202) to hold electrical conductors, a clamping element (207) for pressing the electrical conductors against retaining area, a spring element (212), a rotary actuating element (204) and first and second retaining elements. The first and the second retaining elements hold the actuating element in a first position, in which the actuating element fixes the clamping element in position away from the retaining area. In the second position of the actuating element, the spring element pushes the clamping element in the direction of the retaining area to clamp the electrical conductor at the retaining area. The actuating element can be brought in the second position from the first position through the rotary movement.
