Abstract

1. Tunnel construction process employing prefabricated concrete elements which are fixed together after placing, characterized in that it comprises the following phases : - excavation, at the base of the location of the vertical walls, of sheeted cuts (2) of dimensions slightly greater than those of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements (1) intended to form, in part, the valls of the tunnel, - production of a foundation course (4), - positionning of vertical elements (1) in each cut (2), each element (1), set at a distance from the preceding element, being arranged in line with a similar element (1) arranged on the other side of the tunnel, - filling of the cuts (2) with a stabilized filling material (9) and, simultaneous withdrawal of the sheeting (3), - frontal pre-excavation (25) of the volume of the tunnel, gradually exposing the top of the vertical elements (1) of a section of tunnel, - placement of lintels (27) parallel to the axis of the tunnel, in line with the gaps separating two vertical elements (1), in a manner such that the ends of each lintel (27) bear on the upper part of two successive vertical elements (1) ; - placement of uppper cross-beams (28), the ends of each beam resting on lintels (27) arranged facing each other on either side of the tunnel, - frontal excavation (26) of the volume of the tunnel, gradually exposing each pair of vertical elements (1) joined by a cross-beam (28), the heel (22) of the vertical elements remaining driven in the ground, - exposure of the gap (30) separating two successive vertical elements (1), - placement of a supporting beam (29) in line with the gap separating two successive elements, - introduction of a reinforcement (31) into the vertical gap separating two successive vertical elements, - application of a shuttering panel (33) between two successive vertical elements (1) on the side facing the interior of the tunnel, - introduction of reinforcing members (32) parallel to the axis of the tunnel through apertures (17) made at the bottom of the lateral faces (14) of the vertical elements, - casting of concrete in the shutterings formed between two successive vertical elements (1), - levelling of the floor of the excavation, - placement of a reinforcement and casting of the foundation raft (35), - placement of preliminary slabs (37) of reinforced concrete, in a manner such that each preliminary slab bears on two successive upper cross-beams (28), - concreting of the upper slab (38) and fixing thereof to the vertical columns, - placement of sealing means, - backfilling and covering of the tunnel.
