Abstract

A door or window has a lever-operated opening and closing mechanism bearer unit. The lever is an L-shaped spindle with a profiled end engaging in a closure mechanism (12). The profiled bare-end is inserted through an aperture to engage between the two sides (22, 24) of an aperture in a plate (20) which holds the lever in its axial position. The plate (20) slides radially within the bearing plate (12). The width side to side (22-24) of the gap is slightly larger than the width of the spindle.
