Abstract

The camshaft position is adjusted by an actuator controlled by a controller and proportional valve. From a comparison of an actual (wnwise) and desired angle a manipulated variable in the form of a pulse duty factor for the valve is determined. Before the comparison a predicted angle (wnwpe) is added to the actual shaft angle the sum corresponding to the final shaft angle. This is reached after changing the duty factor to the holding value until the valve has completely closed i.e. for the period (znwve).
