Abstract

1. A hinge for a window or door shutter, the hinge comprising a preferably adjustable block (1) and a hinge plate (2) which is rotatably mounted on the block by means of a sleeve (3) and which has an angled limb (5) with a displacement guide for a connection lug (6) fixed onto the sleeve, wherein the connection lug can be fixedly clamped in the respective position to which it is displaced against the angled limb of the hinge plate by a clamping screw (9) which passes through an elongate slot (14) in the limb, characterized in that the angled limb (5) of the hinge plate (2) carries a cover (13) for the head (12) of the clamping screw (9) with an elongate slot (14) which extends at least over the range of adjustment for the insertion of a tool for actuating the clamping screw (9), with the head diameter of the screw being larger than the width of the elongate slot ; and in that the distance of the cover from the head (12) of the tightened clamping screw (9) is smaller than the thread engagement length of the clamping screw (9) in the connecting lug (6) of the sleeve (3).
