Abstract

A board (1) with a postforming edge consists of a backing material such as, for example, chip fibre, solid wood, plywood, MDF or the like which carries on at least one surface a coating (2) of a relatively thin material, at least one end face (21) of the board being designed as a postforming edge which consists of at least two mutually dependent materials, namely the coating (2) and a coating backing (6, 22) which are together bent around the board end face, for example forming a radius, and are connected to this end face in a positive-locking manner. The mutual dependency is given firstly by a requisite rigidity and the cohesion during the cutting operations and secondly by adequate flexibility and thermal stressing capacity during the bending around the rounded edge of the board. The coating backing is made of a wooden material.
