Abstract

The substrate, which can be designed as a woven fabric or as a warp knitted fabric, in particular as a weft Raschel or else as a Malimo fabric, consists of 45 to 65% by weight of natural fibres, of which at least 40% by weight is wool and 5 to 25% by weight is ramie. The remaining 35 to 55% by weight is synthetic fibre such as polypropylene, polyamide, acrylic, aramid and in particular polyester. When formed as a woven or warp knitted fabric the warp can consist, for example, of synthetic fibres and the weft of wool-ramie blend yarn or vice versa, or else both the warp and the weft may consist not only of a wool-ramie blend yarn but also of a synthetic fibre yarn.
