beiden Federn i, i kann geregelt werden.

Combined switching and regulating apparatus for power generators rotating at variable speeds.

driven power generator especially for vehicle lighting systems.
A large number of regulating and switching devices serving the same purpose are already known. The one according to the invention, however, in contrast to other versions, guarantees that the switching off and switching on of a power storage unit as well as the regulation of the current intensity and finally also the regulation of the voltage of the current generated by the current generator by means of the windings applied to a single core is practical is effected independently of each other. Above all, the new apparatus also enables all parts of the controller to be designed in such a way and such a spatial arrangement of these relative to one another that they represent a single, self-contained apparatus.
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
The embodiment shown serves to control a train lighting system with the lamps A, which are fed by the shunt DC generator B. which is driven by an axle of the vehicle, and by means of a collector battery C. It consists of two structurally combined, automatic oscillating levers D E, which both serve to regulate the excitation current of the generator B, one controller D being influenced by the voltage and the other E by the current intensity of the generator. The two controllers D, E periodically short-circuit a common resistor a, which is in series with the field winding b of the generator.
One end of the resistor a is connected to one end of the winding b by a conductor ici /, the other end of which is in permanent connection with a conductor l, which connects the negative pole of the armature b1 to one pole of the battery C and the lamp circuit A. connects. The other end of this resistor a is connected by conductors k and m to the positive pole of the armature b1.

On the left side of the core f1 a winding e of thick wire belonging to the regulator E is applied, which is connected by the conductor q to the conductor m and by the conductor r to the conductor s, which leads to the positive pole of the battery C, at which through conductor t, in which a switch u is switched on, the lamp current

both springs i, i can be regulated.
It is now assumed that the contact 101 is constantly in contact with its mating contact 102. The controller D then acts as follows: At normal voltage, corresponding to an average driving speed of the vehicle, the spring action predominates on the armature g, so that the

Touch contacts 91, g2 and resistor a is short-circuited. If the driving speed of the vehicle and thus the voltage of the generator increase, the armature g is attracted, the contacts 91, 9 are separated and the resistor a is connected in series with the winding b. Due to the decrease in voltage at generator B, armature g is released again, etc.
The mode of operation of the vibration regulator E is the same as that of the regulator D, only that it is not influenced by the terminal voltage but rather by the amperage of the current generator B.
Because the tension of the springs i, i can be changed individually by regulating means (not shown), the periods during which the resistance a for the same driving speed of the vehicle or for the same strength of the current from the generator B in series with the winding b changed.
The automatic switch Q is structurally combined with the controller to connect the battery to the generator when it has reached the correct voltage, and to prevent a reverse current from the battery into the generator. This has an armature ti, which is hinged to the middle part f4, is under the action of the spring v, and by which for this purpose

Contact yl connected to winding e by conductor y. The contact yl is separated from its mating contact y2 connected to the conductor s by the spring v.
In the idle state, power generators and batteries are separated. When the vehicle is in motion and the power generator generates the voltage required for charging, the armature is attracted under the influence of the coil dl and the generator and battery are connected.
If the speed and the voltage of the generator B drop so far that reverse current occurs in the winding e, the armature ei drops, whereby the generator and battery are separated.
