EMI1.1

Ausbeute an bituminösen

EMI1.1
It is known that by smoldering oil shale the organic components of the same can be obtained in the form of so-called Sehiefer oil or smoldering tar, which the latter can then be further processed into mineral oils and paraffin.
EMI1.2
can achieve considerably higher yields of bituminous substances than when using the known Sehwel method. According to the invention, the so-called wood spirit oil comes into consideration as the extraction agent, which is obtained as an aftertaste during rectification of the raw wood spirit for the purpose of obtaining methyl alcohol and boils between 70 and 200. The fraction passing over between 70 and 130 has proven to be particularly suitable for the extraction of oil shale.
Besides wood spirit oil, there is also the so-called acetone. which is mainly obtained as a waste product in the purification of acetone obtained from wood lime, as an extraction agent with advantage. In this case too, the proportions boiling between 80 and 130 are particularly suitable for the extraction.

agents can be used.
The extraction can, as was found. can be carried out successfully not only in warmth, but also at ordinary temperature.
The yields achieved by using Holzgeistol, which considerably exceed those of the carbonization process, are particularly surprising because when using benzene as the extraction agent, the yield of extracted bitumen is only a fraction of the carbonization yield. In comparative tests, one and the same oil slate was used. which, in the case of extraction, is crushed to grain size, the following. Yield of bituminous
