Acetylengasentwickler.
EMI1.1

Acetylene gas generator.
EMI1.1
It is essential for the present invention that the gas continuously remains under the same pressure determined in advance, whereby a steady burning of the flame is ensured. The even gas pressure is achieved in that the drain pipe of a closed water container arranged above the gas development space is in the pipe,
EMI1.2
This ensures that the water inflow from the water reservoir can be shut off by raising this pipe.
In the drawing, such an acetylene gas generator is shown, for example, in the form of a lamp for a burner. It consists of an outer container a in which the developer b is located. which takes the carbide sleeve c in itself. The carbide sleeve c is held in the developer b by means of a bayonet lock and is designed in such a way that it can be easily pushed into the developer. The outer container carries the water inlet channel d on its outer surface, which has an inflow opening at its bottom. The water container e, which is closed on all sides, is placed on the outer container a. The developer b is tightly soldered to this, from which a pipe f leads the developed gas to the burner through the water container.
At the bottom of the water container is the water outlet tube g, which is adjacent to the tube h for air to flow into the container e corresponding to the water outlet. The tubes g, h are cut off at an angle at the lower end. The position of the tube g is such that it protrudes into the water channel d in the assembled state. A bottomed end tube i slides over the tube g, which is laterally provided with a hole, the lower edge of which covers the upper edge of the shorter channel in the tube g when the tube i is lifted and sits in the bayonet lock attached at the top.
In addition, a hook is attached to the tube i, which holds the tube in the lowered state on the inlet channel d and is used to fasten it to the chain that is soldered to the water tank.
The mode of operation of the apparatus according to the present invention is as follows: The carbide sleeve c is filled with carbide and the water container e is filled with water. the exit
EMI1.3
is left, no water will flow out of the water tank. Only after loosening the bayonet lock and lowering the tube i (Fig. I) is the tube h free for air access, whereupon water can enter the channel d from the longer tube g.
The water passes through the bottom opening into the outer container a, in which it rises to the level of the air duct. From the outer container, the water reaches the carbide container c in a known manner. The evolved gas reaches the burner through pipe f.
The gas pressure in the developer b is determined by the water level in the outer container a, and it forms the same water column that was determined between the upper edge of the carbide can c and the air duct h and which can vary according to the number of burners and the size of the apparatus.
In order to stop the development of gas, the tube i is raised and, according to FIG. 3, held in this position by a bayonet lock. The air pipe is immersed in water, which prevents further outflow of water from the container e. A shut-off of the air pipe k and thus the water inflow can take place automatically when the gas pressure in the container c rises, as a result of which the water can rise to above the outlet end of the pipe k.
