Device for advertising purposes.
The invention relates to a device for advertising purposes, the strip of tape having advertising or advertising signs runs over guide drums firmly connected to their shafts and alternately rolls up and down on two winding drums loosely arranged on their shafts. The invention consists essentially in that the shafts of all the drums over which the belt runs are coupled by a common shaft, the loose winding drums being connected by two helical springs with radially directed arms firmly seated on the shafts of the winding drums. The construction is thereby considerably simplified compared to known devices of this type.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. FIG. 1 shows the device in a front view and FIG. 2 shows the same in a side view.
The device is driven by the motor shaft 1 on which the sleeve 2, which carries the two gear wheels 3, 31, can be displaced. Depending on the position of the sleeve 2, one or the other of these gearwheels comes into engagement with the gearwheel 4 which is keyed onto the shaft 5. The displacement of the sleeve 2 is effected by a lever 7, 51, de? is held at 50 rotatable. The arm 51 carries a pin 52 which engages in a slot provided in the screw nut 8. The nut 8 sits on the screw 21, which is set in rotation by the shaft 6 by means of the two gears 22 and 23. The arm 7 is loaded by a spring 9 which is connected to the frame at 10 and pivots the lever 7, 51 into its end position when the rotation of the same by the nut 8 is initiated.
A disk 5 is keyed on the shaft 6 and carries a pin 24 which engages with the incisions of the Maltese cross 26. The Maltese cross is rigidly connected to the gear 27, which meshes with the gear 28 which is firmly seated on the shaft 29 of the drum 12.
The shaft 29 rotates the shaft 32 by means of the bevel gears 30, 31, which in turn sets the shafts of the drums 11, 111 and 121 in rotation by means of bevel gears. 0
The guide drums 12 and 121 are firmly keyed on their shafts and are in engagement with the belt 19 carrying the advertisements by means of driver teeth 49, 491. The drums 11 and 11 on which the advertising tape 19 is wound are connected by springs 13, 131 to radial arms of the associated shafts in order to cancel out the differences in the dimensions of the diameter of the drums caused by the rolling up and down of the advertising strip.
The flexible connection of the winding drums 11, 111 with their shafts makes it possible to couple all four drums 11, 111, 12, 121 by a common shaft, whereby the construction is considerably simplified.
The operation of the device is as follows: In the position of the lever 7 shown in Fig. I, the motor shaft 1 drives the shaft 6 or the disk 5 by means of the gears 3, 4, the pin 24 of which gives the Maltese cross 26 a quarter turn, whereby the advertising tape to a certain length or. is handled. The advertisement
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
tied at rest for a period of time until the pin 24 engages the next incision of the Maltese cross.
The shaft 6 also rotates the screw spindle 21 and thereby causes the displacement of the nut 8, in whose longitudinal slot the bolt 52 of the lever arm 51 engages.
As soon as the end of the slot hits the bolt 52, the lever 7, 51 is rotated and the sleeve 2 is displaced, the gear 3 of which disengages from the gear 4. The rotation of the lever 7, 51 by the nut 8 is so great that the lever comes into an unstable equilibrium position with respect to the load by the spring 9, so that the spring 9 can cause a further rotation of the lever and the wheel 31 with the Brings wheel 4 into engagement. This changes the direction of rotation of the shaft 6 and of the drums 11, 111, 12, 121. The dimensions of the transmission elements are selected so that the number of revolutions of the shaft 6, which occur in each direction of rotation, corresponds to a complete unwinding of the tape 19.
The device designed in accordance with the invention has the advantage of an extremely safe mode of operation and a simple and inexpensive design. It can be used to advantage on urban cars, in which case the drive is to be effected from one of the wheel axles.
The device can of course also be set into action in another way, for example by a clockwork or by any motor (electric motor).
