Starting auxiliary device for direct current measuring apparatus with iron in the main atomic field.
In direct current watt-hour meters with iron in the fixed field excited by the main current according to patent no. 76991, the negative torque of the counter magnet is not constant during one revolution with certain armature designs, but rather shows periodic fluctuations. These are those arrangements for direct current measuring equipment with rotating or oscillating armature, in which the poles of the counter magnet are of such a size and position relative to the main magnet that the counter magnet only acts on a fraction of the armature circumference. With such arrangements, the load required for starting (the starting current) can become too high, namely when the mean torque of the (rain magnet is so large that a good compensation of the remanence is achieved.
In these cases, according to the invention, a good start-up is possible, s. in the following way:
A small stationary auxiliary coil through which the shunt current flows, which may have an iron core, is arranged opposite the armature in such a way that it produces a positive torque at the point where the negative torque of the counter magnet is greatest, but where it has a negative effect Torque of the counter magnet is zero or only very low. The auxiliary coil has no influence on the mean torque, since it has just as much positive as negative effect during one revolution of the armature. A small steel magnet can also be used instead of the start-up coil.
The drawings show an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
In Fig. 1 and 2, the hatched areas indicate the pole surfaces of the magnets,

d that of the start-up coil.
The armature e of the counter is designed, for example, as a flat armature with three round coils, which can be connected in a closed circuit with a three-part collector.

and in which the start-up coil has a positive torque. In the position shown in FIG. 2, the torque of the counter magnet is low and that of the start-up coil is negative, but even with very small loads it can always be adjusted slightly less than the positive
