Zündkerze.
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf Zündkerzen für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen derjenigen Art, bei denen in die äussere Elektrode (das Gehäuse) ein Elektrodenstift eingesetzt ist, dessen Ende so abgebogen ist, dass er der mittleren Elektrode gegenübersteht. Bei den bekannten Elektroden dieser Art liegt der in das Gehäuse der Kerze eingesetzte Elektrodenstift und häufig auch die mittlere Elektrode ausserhalb des Gehäuses. Die Elektrodenstifte können infolgedessen leicht verbogen oder beschädigt werden, so dass der genau hinzuhaltende Elektrodenabstand sich ändert oder die Kerze überhaupt unbrauchbar wird.
Diese Mängel werden gemäss der Erfindung dadurch beseitigt, dass in der Wand des Gehäuses ein Ausschnitt angebracht wird, wodurch eine Befestigungsstelle für den Elektrodenstift geschaffen wird, die höher liegt als der untere Rand der Kerze. Der Stift liegt infolgedessen geschützt von aussen in dem Ausschnitt der Gehäusewand.
Die Erfindung ist in der Zeichnung dargestellt. Im Innern des Gehäuses 1 ist die Elektrode 2 eingesetzt, die der mittleren Elektrode 3 gegenübersteht. Das Gehäuse 1 besitzt einen Ausschnitt 5, an dessen Grundfläche der Elektrodenstift 2 befestigt ist.
Da bei den Elektroden die Funkenübergangsstelle im Innern des Gehäuses liegt und von unten her durch die vom Gehäuse ausgehende Elektrode 2 verdeckt wird, so sind eine oder mehrere Aussparungen 4 angebracht, durch die der Elektrodenabstand a von der Seite her eingestellt und beobachtet werden kann.

The invention relates to spark plugs for internal combustion engines of the type in which an electrode pin is inserted into the outer electrode (the housing), the end of which is bent so that it faces the central electrode. In the known electrodes of this type, the electrode pin inserted into the housing of the candle and often also the central electrode are outside the housing. As a result, the electrode pins can easily be bent or damaged, so that the exact electrode spacing to be maintained changes or the candle becomes unusable at all.
These deficiencies are eliminated according to the invention in that a cutout is made in the wall of the housing, whereby a fastening point for the electrode pin is created which is higher than the lower edge of the candle. As a result, the pin is protected from the outside in the cutout of the housing wall.
The invention is shown in the drawing. In the interior of the housing 1, the electrode 2 is inserted, which is opposite the central electrode 3. The housing 1 has a cutout 5, on the base of which the electrode pin 2 is attached.
