EMI1.1
The invention relates to a sub-igniter for liquid fuels. The innovation consists in the fact that a fuel container is arranged in a housing that is open at the bottom and at the front, in which a carburetor, reinforced at the bottom with cross-shaped stripes and perforated in the middle, is embedded, the upper part of which also serves as a flame splitter.
The drawing shows:
1 shows a cross section through the igniter and part of the grate,
Figure 2 is a top plan view in partial section through the front portion.
The charcoal lighter consists of the housing 1, which is open at the bottom and at the front, which at the same time serves as a vestibule for the draft entering through the grate, which escapes through the front opening of the housing between the top wall 2 and the flame splitter 3.
In the front part of the housing 1, attached to the two side walls, there is the container 4, which is used to hold the fuel liquid and in which the carburetor also rests. This consists of a curved wall, which is designed in a cross shape in the lower part by attaching transverse strips 5. The middle part of the wall is perforated, whereby webs are formed, while the upper part 3 of the wall, which serves as a flame splitter, is bent in the shape of a tongue and protrudes from the front opening of the housing.
The central openings of the carburetor form air passages to the flames striking forward. The spaces between the cross pieces 5 and the walls of the container 4 are filled with an incombustible, liquid-absorbing body (asbestos).
After the ignition of the coal lighter placed on the grate, the flame first heats the flame splitter 3, whereby the heat is transferred through the webs 6 to the lower part of the gasifier and gasification occurs.
With the help of this device one is able to ignite coals quickly and safely even in furnaces with low drafts.
