Process for increasing heat and removing phosphorus from molten calcium carbide.

Through the attempts made so far in calcium carbide production to reduce the duration of the electrical melting process by adding additives to the lime which, on the one hand, give off oxygen in the glowing heat, on the other hand, the lime in the ohmic heat release oxygen, on the other hand, the lime lightly in the glowing heat make liquid, could bezw in the coal. Phosphorus compounds contained in the coke are not slagged during the melting process; the presence of phosphorus compounds in the finished carbide is known to cause great inconvenience.

The subject matter of the present invention is a process, which by the special choice of the additives and the special choice of the time for the mixing

The non-salable fine carbide waste coming from the shredding machines is advantageously used as the carbide surcharge. which, when heated, increases the temperature of the material to be melted.

Manganese dioxide and potassium chlorate provide oxygen, which promotes the combustion of the carbide additive.

The aluminum combines with liohic oxide and carbon dioxide according to the following
