Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a device for axially securing a bearing on an axle or shaft, in particular for the bearings of the rollers of belt conveyors on their axles, below
Use of a support ring whose edge facing away from the bearing in a notch or ring groove of the
Axis is indented. Such devices are described, for example, in GB-PS No. 1410123.

DE-OS 2313234 also has such a device as its subject matter, the known designs having the disadvantage that dust could penetrate the bearings through the support rings and therefore separate sealing measures had to be taken.

The aim of the invention is to create a particularly simple design which avoids the disadvantages of the known designs, and essentially consists in the support ring being designed as a sealing element which seals the bearing. In this way, a particularly simple way of securing a bearing against axial displacement is created, which at the same time prevents dust from entering the bearing. The support ring itself fulfills the sealing function and the use of a separate sealing element can be dispensed with.

According to a preferred design of the device according to the invention, the design is such that the sealing element is designed as a labyrinth seal, the labyrinth gaps of which extend coaxially to the shaft, and that the annular web of the part of the labyrinth seal connected to the axis, which internally delimits the labyrinth gap with the smallest diameter, is in the ring groove of the shaft is indented. This design enables the device according to the invention to be manufactured particularly cheaply, which has high operational reliability. The design of the seal as a labyrinth seal has the advantage that the wear and tear on the parts that can rotate relative to one another is reduced to a minimum.

The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.

The drawing shows an axial section through the bearing part of a belt roller of a belt conveyor.

The roller-l-is stored on an axis --3-- through the intermediary of a bearing --2--. The inner bearing ring --7-- is secured against displacement in the axial direction by a support ring --4--. --5- is an annular groove in the axis --3--, which has a sawtooth-like cross section and is delimited by a flank --6-- perpendicular to the axis. The edge --8-- of the support ring --4-- facing away from the bearing --2- is inserted into this annular groove --5--. The support ring --4-- is made of metal so that this indentation can be carried out easily.

   - is a lip seal, which is attached to the roller --1-- with screws or rivets.

The sealing body --10-- and the sealing element --11-- of the support ring --4-- together form a labyrinth seal. --12-- is also a sealing ring.
