bekannten Fungizid.

known fungicide.
Fungi and other pathogens cause significant crop yield losses each year.
Means are already available for the prevention of many plant diseases; however, there is a need for further improvements in this area if the food and fiber production facilities are to be exploited to the full. The fungicidal composition according to the invention is particularly effective for combating fungus diseases in plants, such as potato and tomato late blight and leaf fall diseases. Furthermore, the fungicidal composition according to the invention has systemic and healing properties. Even small amounts are sufficient to eliminate or cure existing plant diseases caused by fungi. This is in contrast to most traditional preservatives which must be applied prior to infestation.
The invention relates to a fungicidal composition containing a compound of the formula
EMI1.6
in combination with at least one additional fungicide suitable for agricultural purposes, the further fungicide consisting of the coordination product of zinc ion and manganese-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate (maneozeb) and the ratio of compound according to formula (I) to this 10: 1 to 1 : 1000, preferably 5: 1 to 1: 500 and more, in particular 2: 1 to 1: 100.
By treating the area to be protected against the disease with this fungicidal composition, the infestation is effectively avoided. This fungicidal composition also has a systemic and healing effect on the plants. As it has a healing effect, it can be used before or after the plants have been attacked by fungi. Since the fungicidal composition has a systemic effect in plants, it can be used not only for the direct treatment of the infected parts of the plant but also for the treatment of unaffected
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fallen parts of the plant or the soil. All of these application sites are included in the term "treating the plants".
Active agents based on the fungicidal composition described above essentially consist of one of the compositions mentioned and an inert diluent. Surfactants, as well as other ingredients that do not affect the effectiveness of the composition, can also be added.
The preparation of 2-cyano-N- (ethylcarbamoyl) -2-methoxyiminoacetamide [formula (I)] is known from ZA-PS 73/1111.
The coordination product of zinc ion and manganese-ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate is also known and is produced by known methods.
The fungicidal composition according to the invention can contain the active ingredients, namely the compound of the formula (I) and mancozeb, in the following proportions:

The agricultural chemicals given above are just a few examples of compounds that can be mixed with the fungicidal composition according to the invention.
The fungicidal composition of the present invention is an effective plant disease control agent. It exhibits systemic and healing activity when used to treat the soil, reproductive organs, stems, or foliage of plants. The systemic and healing properties of the fungicidal composition according to the invention constitute an excellent feature thereof. The systemic effectiveness of the composition results in a surprising manner from the suppression of the potato and tomato late blight of the leaves by simply treating the root system with the composition according to the invention. Another proof is the healing effect against existing infections caused by the leaf rot pathogen.
The disease can be brought to a halt even if treatment is applied hours after the plants are artificially inoculated.
Of the fungi that cause disease in agricultural crops, the phycomycetes are among the most malicious. The diseases caused by this group of fungi include leaf rot in tomatoes and potatoes and leaf fall disease in grapes, cabbage, vegetables, and pumpkins.
Diseases caused by Phycomycetes can be combated particularly well by the fungicidal composition according to the invention.
The composition according to the invention protects the plants against damage by certain fungi if it is used in sufficient quantities to treat the correct areas according to the methods described below. It is particularly suitable for protecting living plants by treating the soil in which the plants grow or in which they are subsequently sown or planted, as well as for treating seeds, tubers, bulbs or other plant reproductive organs before planting and for treating the Leaves, stems and / or fruits. Soil treatment is done with the help of dusts, grains, pills, solutions or slurries.
