Hochschwenken des Fussteiles benötigte Kraft auf ein geringes Mass verringert sein. Ist die Stützfeder um einen am Rahmen befestigten Träger schraubenförmig gewunden und mit einem Federende an einem an diesem Träger vorgesehenen verstellbaren Anschlag abgestützt, so kann mit einfachen Mitteln die Vorspannung der Stützfeder nach Bedarf eingestellt werden.
Eine vorteilhafte Weiterbildung der Erfindung ergibt sich schliesslich auch darin, dass der Kopfteil und der Fussteil mit Einhängebeschlägen auf der Querachse gelagert sind, wobei die Einhängebeschläge Lagerbohrungen mit Umfangsschlitzen von geringerer Breite als der Bohrungsdurchmesser aufweisen und die Querachse an den Lagerstellen der Schlitzbreite entsprechend abgeflacht ist. Diese Einhängebeschläge ermöglichen in einfacher Art das Aushängen des Kopfteiles bzw. Fussteiles, ohne dass besondere Werkzeuge verwendet werden müssen.
In den Zeichnungen ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes dargestellt. Es zeigen Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines Bettes mit Kopf-und Fussteil in ebener Lage, Fig. 2 das Bett nach Fig. 1 in Gebrauchslage mit angehobenem Kopf-und Fussteil, Fig. 3 das Bett nach Fig. 1 mit hochgeschwenktem Fussteil, der den Zugang zum Bettzeugraum ermöglicht, Fig. 4 eine Seitenansicht eines Ausschnittes des Bettes in grösserem Massstab, welche die Anordnung einer zusätzlichen Stützfeder zeigt, Fig. 5 einen Schnitt nach Linie V-V in Fig. 4, Fig. 6 eine Seitenansicht der Gelenkverbindung des Fuss-und Kopfteiles mit dem Rahmen und Fig. 7 einen Grundriss der Fig. 6.
Das in den Fig. 1 bis 3 dargestellte Bett weist einen kastenförmigen Rahmen--l--auf, der durch eine Zwischenwand --2-- in zwei Räume--3, 4-- aufgeteilt ist. Auf dem Rahmen--l-- sind ein Kopfteil --5-- und ein Fussteil --6-- angeordnet, auf denen die Matratze--7--liegt.
Die Teile-5 und 6-sind um Achsen --8-- hochschwenkbar am Rahmen --1-- befestigt. Der unter dem Kopfteil --5-- liegende Raum --3-- enthält einen an sich bekannten Verstellmechanismus für die Schräglage des Kopfteiles, der nicht zur Erfindung gehört und deshalb nicht beschrieben wird.

Um bei Benutzung des Bettes die Beine auch gegenüber der normalen horizontalen Lage gemäss Fig. 1 erhöht lagern zu können, ist an der Querwand-la-des Rahmens--l-ein um ein Scharnier aus der in Fig. 1 dargestellten in die in Fig. 2 dargestellte Lage hochklappbares Stützbrett - -10-- angeordnet.

Falls das beschriebene Bett als französisches Bett oder Doppelbett ausgebildet ist, weist der hochklappbare Fussteil --6-- ein beträchtliches Gewicht auf. Um den Kraftaufwand für das Hochklappen zu vermindern, werden zweckmässig Stützfedern eingebaut, von denen eine in den Fig. 4 und 5 dargestellt ist.
