perforation is effected, a first dewatering of the material stacked in the hopper is achieved during the pressing process. This further increases the efficiency. The inventive arrangement of the cutting body can reliably avoid any difficulties which could arise due to the different cohesion in separating the materials to be compressed in the chamber and those remaining in the hopper. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the cutting edge of the cutting body is saw-shaped and lies at a small distance above the plane defined by the surface of the horizontal plate.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing. 1 shows a front view, partially in section, of the pressing device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a partial view of the cutting bodies.
The pressing device is carried by four supports 4 which are connected to one another in pairs by angle iron 5 and cross member 6. The angle irons 5 carry a preferably rectangular frame 7 in the center, by which a hopper 8 is carried. A sieve 9, which is fastened to the frame 7 and consists of perforated metal plates, is provided between the supports 4. Although the sieve 9 is shown rectangular in cross section in the drawing, it could also have a different shape, for example semicircular. At one end of the sieve there is an end wall 10, which can be displaced from the outside by means of a piston rod 11 which is under liquid pressure. The piston cylinder 12 is supported by the supports 4.
EMI2.1
Piston rod 16.
Its cross-section is adapted to the cross-section of the pressing chamber and can be moved towards and away from the end wall 10. The piston cylinder 15 of the piston rod 16 is also supported by the supports 4. The stroke of the piston 16 is designed so that the end face of the press plate 14 covers at least a distance that corresponds to the clear width of the press chamber 13.
In the longitudinal direction of the piston rod 16, a perforated horizontal plate 17, which is connected to the upper edge of the press plate 14, is arranged above the piston cylinder 15 in front of the filling funnel 8. In its retracted movement phase shown in FIG. 1, this horizontal plate 17 is supported by rollers 18 carried by the angle iron 5, two of which are shown. This horizontal plate 17 serves as the bottom part of the filling funnel 8 during the forward movement phase of the pressing plate 14, which prevents material filled into the filling funnel from falling into the space behind the (pushed forward) pressing plate 14 during this phase. The perforation of the horizontal plate 17 serves at the same time for the first drainage of the stacked material.
The pressing chamber 13 is enclosed at a distance by a housing 19 which is fastened to the angle iron 5 and which is used to collect the liquid that is pressed out of the material during the pressing.
This housing 19 has a beveled bottom part, at the lowest point of which a drainage channel 20 is provided.
EMI2.2
The knife 22 extends over the entire width of the pressing chamber 13 - the width is to be assumed perpendicular to the plane of the drawing according to FIG. 1 - and protrudes into it so that its front part opens into the filling funnel 8. The cutting edge 24 of this knife lies at a small distance above the plane defined by the surface of the horizontal plate 17. It is advisable to choose this distance about 1-2 mm.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the knife 22 can preferably be composed of individual parts having saw teeth, each of which is held by screws 21 on the frame part 7 ′. It goes without saying that this arrangement makes it easy to exchange individual knives that have prematurely become blunt. Many exemplary embodiments in this regard are conceivable.
The piston rod 16 operated by fluid pressure is controlled in a known manner by valves. These valves can be controlled by a time mechanism independently of individual manual operation. An electric motor 25 and a reduction gear 26 are arranged on a part of the stand. Cam disks 28, 29, which are each in operative connection with valves 30, 31, are keyed on a shaft 27 of transmission 26. Many different embodiments are also conceivable with regard to these parts forming the timing mechanism.
The press device works as follows:
The materials to be pressed can be fed to the hopper via an endless belt 32, as can be seen from FIG. At the beginning the press plate 14 is in the extreme right corner of the press chamber 13 and shown in FIG. between so long. until the pressing chamber 13 is filled with material. The timing mechanism of the valve controlling the forward movement of the piston rod 16 is determined by the speed of the conveyor belt or the press plate 14 is automatically set in motion when the press chamber 13 is full.
By moving the pressing plate 14 forward, the material is compressed or compressed, and the liquid contained in it is pressed out and passes through the openings of the sieve 9 into the housing 19, from which it is drained through the drainage channel 20. When the press lath 14 reaches the knife 22, the material compressed into a package is cut off or, better, sheared off from the material still in the hopper 8.
The package formed between the end wall 10 and the press plate 14 is preferably pressed for 1-3 minutes.
