Electromagnetic miniature relay

Wire bow on the double spring effective armature via a center contact operationally one of the
Mating contacts touched. It is recommended that the soft iron core is provided with a thread in order to adjust the working air gap and that its position is fixed by connecting it to a cover plate that conducts the magnetic flux. It is expedient to hold the sleeve-shaped soft iron jacket on the housing forming the contact chamber with bead-like all-pressure points.
For certain applications it may be useful to arrange the relay on a glass-metal base.
In order to achieve an optimal tightening force, it is advantageous to design the pole faces of the soft iron core and those of the bolt-shaped armature on the sides facing one another as cones that fit into one another.
An embodiment of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawing, FIG
Miniature relay shows in a considerably enlarged representation in section, while FIG. 2 shows only that on the
Reproduces base arranged contact arrangement with the relay armature.
The small relay shown in section in Fig. 1 consists essentially of the solenoid 4 surrounded by a sleeve-shaped soft iron jacket 8, which over the greater part of its length has a
Soft iron core 9 has. The soft iron core 9 cooperates with the bolt-shaped armature 10, which is displaceable in the axial direction. The armature 10 can move in the axial direction without friction without contact in the solenoid and is fastened on the side facing away from the working air gap 12 to a double spring 18 that acts as a parallel guide. When the relay responds, the armature within the solenoid is guided by the double spring in such a way that it does not come into contact with its inner wall. The inner wall of the solenoid is formed by a tube 5 that does not conduct the magnetic flux.
To adjust the working air gap 12, the soft iron core 9 is provided with a thread 9b, and its respectively set position is determined by soldering it to an end plate 7 which conducts the magnetic flux and to a tube 5 which does not conduct the magnetic flux. The adjustability of the working air gap 12 allows all manufacturing tolerances of the magnet system and the contact set to be compensated. This also makes it easy to change the response value of the relay.
The sleeve-shaped soft iron jacket 8 serves, on the one hand, to guide the magnetic flux, as indicated in dash-dotted lines, and, on the other hand, to mechanically protect the winding of the solenoid 4.
The sleeve-shaped soft iron jacket 8 is held on the housing bushing 6 by means of bead-shaped pressure points 23. In order to achieve optimal response values or tensile forces for the armature 10, the pole faces of the soft iron core and of the bolt-shaped armature are designed as cones 9a and 10a that fit into one another on the sides facing one another.
The wire connections to the solenoid 4 are inserted into recesses in the soft iron disc 7 and are soldered to the ends of the winding protruding beyond the solenoid.
The contact arrangement of the relay, which is located together with the double spring 18 in the contact chamber 6a of the housing socket 6, is shown diagrammatically in FIG. The armature 10 is attached to the socket pin 17 via the wire 19 and the double spring 18. At the points marked with a black point, welds are provided which establish the connection between the wire 19, the base pin 17 and the double spring 18. The base pin 17 acts as a solid base for the upward and downward movement of the double spring 18 when the armature 10 moves. This creates a parallel guide for the armature 10, which ensures friction-free armature movement in the area of the armature stroke provided.
The double spring 18 simultaneously serves as a power supply for the center contact 20 attached to the wire 19. The mating contacts 22 are located on the base pins 21 and 21 '. The contact arrangement fastened on the base is inserted into the housing socket 6 during assembly and the base is then soldered or welded to it. The base 2 forms the lower end of the relay. Instead of the socket pins, solder connections can also be provided, so that direct wiring of the relay is possible.
The extremely small dimensions of the individual components make it possible to produce such a miniature relay with a length of about 30 mm and a diameter of about 6 mm, with the connections for the excitation winding on one side and the connections for the contact arrangement on the other are.
