Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Seating and reclining furniture The invention relates to seating and reclining furniture, in particular a reclining folding bench, with a seat part supported against a frame, with which a backrest part is pivotably connected, which is pivotably articulated to the frame via at least one lever mounted on the backrest part and the frame is. In furniture of this type, it is known that during the transformation of the furniture from the sitting to the lying position, the seat part or the like slides on the board connecting the side bolsters of the furniture. This connecting element is therefore subject to considerable wear and tear during use. The wear and tear not only leads to a reduction in the strength of the connecting element, but also affects the aesthetic appearance of the furniture, since this element is usually also visible from the outside.

   However, these disadvantages can be avoided if, according to the invention, the seat part can be displaced along a guide track, preferably designed as a link, which is in particular attached to the frame, a sliding block or a roller being firmly connected to the seat part. This special design of the piece of furniture prevents the seat part from sliding on the connecting element of the side bolsters. This element is therefore not subject to any wear and tear, so that it is possible to attach a fabric covering to this part as well. Waiters can be avoided by the inventive design of the furniture that the seat part is lifted from the frame of the furniture during the movement.

  An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a side view of the seating and reclining furniture in the sitting position. In Fig. 2, the seating and reclining furniture is shown in a lying position in a side view. 3 and 4 illustrate in detail the control device for the mutual movements of the seat part and the backrest part in elevation and plan, partly in section.

  In the drawing, 1 designates a frame, on or near the narrow sides of which feet 2 and 3 are attached. The frame 1 can be covered with fabric and has a slight inclination from front to back.

  The frame 5 of the seat part 6 is provided with the known plastic upholstery or the like, which is covered with fabric. The seat part 6 is supported against the frame. The backrest 7 is pivotably articulated on the frame 1. Seat part 6 and backrest part 7 are pivotally connected to one another. For this purpose, 8 screw bolts are screwed into the frame 5 of the seat part 6 on both sides near the rear end of the side cheeks of the seat part 6, which serve as axes of rotation for the frame 9 of the backrest part 7. Furthermore, the backrest 7 is pivotably mounted on the frame 1 via at least one lever 10, which is mounted on the backrest 7 and on the frame 1. As can be seen from the drawing, the lever 10 is hinged at 11 to the frame 9 of the backrest part 7.

   In order to guide the seat part 6 during its movement, a guide track 13 designed as a link 12 is provided in which a sliding block or a roller 14 slides which is firmly connected to the seat part 6. The guide track 13 is advantageously firmly anchored in the frame 1 and forms an acute angle with the frame or with its plane. The special position of the guideway makes it possible for the seat part 6 to fall backwards in the seated position (in the direction of the backrest part 7) and to lie horizontally in the lying position.

  In order to prevent the seat part from being lifted off the frame 1 in the seated position, a stop 15 is firmly connected to the sliding block 14 and engages under an abutment 16 in the frame 1 in the seated position of the furniture.

  The lying position of the furniture is determined by the fact that at the moment in which the backrest part 7 in

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the horizontal position is pivoted, the backrest part 7 or its frame 9 rests on the lever 10, with the lever 10 preferably on. Carries recess 17 into which a crank 20 of the frame 9 of the backrest part engages.

   On the frame 5 of the seat part 6, at the front, near the narrow sides, one end of a link 18 is pivotably mounted, the other end of which is pivotably mounted on the frame 1. When the seat part is adjusted, it executes a rotary movement at one end by virtue of the link 18, while its other end slides along the guide track, thus executing a translational movement when the guide track is a plane.

   In order to move the furniture from the sitting to the lying position, a pull directed away from the backrest part 7 must be exerted on the seat part 6. The return movement of the piece of furniture from the lying position to the sitting position is initiated by lifting the arm part 7. The return movement can be supported by a spring 19, one end of which is fastened to the handlebar 18, preferably in its central region, and the other end to the
Frame 1 is stored.
