Haftplättchen für Gaumenplatten
Es wurden bereits Haftplättchen für Gaumenplatten vorgeschlagen, die aus plastischem, schmiegsa- mem Material bestehen. Alle diese bekannten Plättchen sind jedoch gleichdicke Folien und tragen damit den praktischen Erfordernissen nicht Rechnung. Bekanntlich tritt nämlich bei Gaumenplatten häufig von dem dem weichen Gaumen zugekehrten Rand her Luft unter die Platte, wodurch sich diese vom Gaumen löst. Erfindungsgemäss wird diesem Übelstand dadurch abgeholfen, dass das Haftplättchen gegen den dem weichen Gaumen zugekehrten Rand zu etwas verstärkt ist.
Als Material für das erfindungsgemässe Haftplättchen wird zweckmässig Weichgummj verwendet, der etwas über der normalen Körpertemperatur leicht formbar ist. Dieses Plättchen wird an der Gaumenseite der Prothese so eingelegt, dass es die ganze Fläche der Prothese bedeckt, und sodann in deren Vertiefungen leicht eingedrückt. Die so präparierte Prothese wird nunmehr an den Gaumen zirka 30 sec lang fest angepresst (Daumendruck oder Zubeissen). Durch vorhergehendes, kurzes Eintauchen der praparierten Prothese in heisses Wasser lässt sich der gewünschte Effekt noch rascher erzielen. Nunmehr über den Prothesenrand übertretende Wülste des überschüssigen Haftmaterials lassen sich unter Verwendung eines weichen Gegenstandes, wie Zahnstocher od. dgl., mühelos über die Prothesenkante abstreifen.
Selbst unter schwierigsten Kieferverhältnissen hält die Prothese absolut sicher. Sie ist jederzeit ent- nehmbar und unter Verwendung von kaltem Wasser mit den üblichen Mitteln zu reinigen. Die Haftfähigkeit einer Einlage dauert erfahrungsgemäss wochenlang. Die Einlage kann bei Unbrauchbarwerden jederzeit erneuert werden. Die Verwendung der gegenständlichen Haftplättchen stellt ein Mittel dar, den Be- sitzern von Flachkiefern die Verwendung von Saugplättchen zu ersparen, so dass sie die Prothese auch wäh- rend des Schlafens tragen können. Die für den Gebrauch von Saugplättchen eingerichtete Prothese kann für die Benützung der gegenständlichen Erfindung Verwendung finden.

Adhesive plates for palatal plates
There have already been proposed adhesive plates for palatal plates, which consist of plastic, pliable material. However, all these known platelets are films of the same thickness and therefore do not take into account practical requirements. It is known that in the case of palatal plates, air often passes under the plate from the edge facing the soft palate, causing it to detach from the palate. According to the invention, this drawback is remedied in that the adhesive plate is somewhat reinforced against the edge facing the soft palate.
Soft rubber is expediently used as the material for the adhesive plate according to the invention, which is easily malleable a little above normal body temperature. This plate is placed on the palate side of the prosthesis in such a way that it covers the entire surface of the prosthesis, and then gently pressed into the depressions. The prosthesis prepared in this way is now firmly pressed against the palate for about 30 seconds (thumb pressure or biting). The desired effect can be achieved even more quickly by briefly immersing the prepared prosthesis in hot water beforehand. Beadings of the excess adhesive material that now protrude over the edge of the prosthesis can easily be wiped over the edge of the prosthesis using a soft object such as a toothpick or the like.
The prosthesis holds absolutely securely even under the most difficult jaw conditions. It can be removed at any time and cleaned with the usual means using cold water. Experience has shown that the adhesion of an insert lasts for weeks. The deposit can be renewed at any time if it becomes unusable. The use of the adhesive platelets in question represents a means of saving the owners of shallow jaws from having to use suction platelets so that they can also wear the prosthesis while sleeping. The prosthesis set up for the use of suction plates can be used for the use of the present invention.
