Process for the production of thin yarns from coconut fibers or the like.
The invention relates to a process for the production of thin yarns from coconut fibers or other hard fibers with similar textile properties according to patent no. 209779. According to the parent patent, a twisted yarn that is continuously moved in the longitudinal direction and that is undrawn in this state is secured against twisting at two points , in between, on the one hand, twisted due to the wrong wire division, on the other hand, twisted again, withdrawn at a higher speed than the feed speed, and thereby warped in the untwisted section.
It has been shown that in this way, despite the unfavorable properties of the fiber material in question! thin yarns can be produced with relatively simple means, but that the end products do not have the desired fixed degree of twist. If, for example, two yarns with different diameters are to be twisted to the same degree, the thinner yarn in each case must be twisted more strongly than the thicker yarn. Since the yarn is now stretched between the two points at which it is secured against rotation, ie between the two clamping points, it has experienced a diameter reduction in the area of the second clamping point.
The mere false twisting ensures that the yarn that is still tightly twisted at the first clamping point is untwisted sufficiently, but there is no complete twisting in the area of the second clamping point because the thread diameter has decreased there and the now thinner yarn requires a stronger twist which cannot be given to him by the device for false wire distribution provided between the two terminal points.
The invention aims to improve the method according to the parent patent in this respect and consists in the assumption that a yarn which is twisted together beyond the degree of complete twist and is already helically wound by length contraction is assumed. It is known that if a certain thickness of a yarn and a certain feed speed to the twisting point are assumed, there is a certain speed at which the yarn is firmly spun. If the speed falls below this limit, the full degree of spinning cannot be achieved, i.e. H. the yarn is then more or less loosely twisted. If the speed limit is exceeded, however, the yarn no longer maintains its shape, but begins to contract and twist in the longitudinal direction and takes on a helical, corkscrew-like shape.
According to the invention, such an over-twisted yarn should form the starting product for the method according to the parent patent.
It is clear that in order to untwist an overwinding yarn in the false twist division, a higher speed of the device concerned, e.g. B. a rotary tube, is required as if a tightly twisted, but not overturned yarn is assumed. However, this increased speed now brings the desired fixed twist with it in the area of the second clamping point, where the yarn diameter is reduced and therefore a comparatively increased twisting is necessary. The yarn forming the starting product must therefore be twisted by the amount by which the end yarn, which is reduced in diameter due to the stretching, requires the starting product to be twisted more strongly in order to achieve a firm and complete twist.
For example, if the yarn were to be stretched to twice the length and the yarn diameter would be reduced by half, twice the speed of the end yarn would be required for complete twisting than for the starting yarn and the starting yarn would therefore have to be twisted and twisted at a speed that corresponds to corresponds to twice the value of the limit speed necessary for the fixed twist of the output yarn. Through the invention

According to the method, the simplest means are used to ensure that the yarn is tightly twisted even after it has been drawn.
