Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Corner pads for packing items
The invention relates to a corner cushion made from a cardboard or cardboard strip or the like for the packaging of objects, both of which are on the outside bent approximately at right angles to one another
Walls delimit a cavity, the boundary walls of which, located towards the interior of the packaging, enclose an edge of the object to be packed. In the course of a modern design of the most diverse utensils or devices that have a box-shaped housing, it is expedient to adapt the packaging protecting the object or device during shipping and thus also the corner cushions to the shape of the housing.

With the invention, a corner cushion is to be created that is effective in such cases
Protection of the object or device to be packaged offers against external impacts on the packaging, where the housing of the object or device in question has side walls that are inclined with respect to the base area. According to the invention, this adaptation is achieved in that the
Outer edges of the boundary walls of the enclosing the edge of the object to be packaged
Corner pads run obliquely to one another over the entire length of the same. The corner cushion according to the invention is used, for example, in the packaging of radio sets provided with a modern housing.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. They show: FIG. 1 a corner cushion according to the invention and FIG. 2 a carton with inserted corner cushions according to the invention.

The corner cushion according to the invention consists of a hollow column, which has six side walls 1, 2, 3, 4,
5 and 6, which delimit the cavity 7. The corner cushion is obtained by correspondingly bending a sheet of cardboard, cardboard or the like. The overlapping ends of the cardboard strip are connected to one another by staples 8. The figures show the corner cushion according to the invention in a state in which pressure is exerted on the boundary walls 4 and 5, which pushes them into a position perpendicular to one another. When the pressure resulting from the position of the object to be upholstered is lifted, the cushion is deformed in the sense that the boundary walls 4 and 5 push outwards, pushing the boundary walls 3 and 6 apart, forming an obtuse angle with one another form.

Since the corner cushion according to the invention is used particularly for the packaging of objects with inclined side walls, the outer edges 10 and 11 of the side walls 4 and 5 of the corner cushion serving as a support for the object to be packaged run conically towards one another after one end of the envelope.

The corner cushions according to the invention can be inserted into the packaging container 13 in the manner shown in FIG.
