<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Textile tape with one-sided padding layer
The invention relates to a textile tape with a one-sided cushion layer, such as. B. a carrier tape for bras or petticoats, an edging tape or other tape intended for the manufacture of lingerie and clothing. Such bands usually come into direct contact with the skin when they are worn and often cause unpleasant skin irritation. In order to counteract this evil, textile tapes have been brought onto the market, which have a cushion layer in the form of a velvet covering on one side.
This velvet covering is achieved by weaving two superimposed tapes together and then separating them with a cutting device (double velvet production) when the tape is woven. The disadvantage of this method is, on the one hand, the relatively high price of such tapes; on the other hand, the velvet effect disappears very quickly in use, be it by chafing away

be lifted.
Accordingly, it relates to a textile tape with a one-sided padding layer, which has an inelastic base fabric consisting of ordinary threads and a warp that is interwoven with this, overlying the base fabric and in which the threads of the superimposed warp are tied in periodic order by wefts that also bind the threads of the base warp and is characterized in that the warp overlaying the base fabric consists of highly elastic crimped yarns of fully synthetic material and the threads of this crimped yarn chain form a loop between two tying points to form a plush-like covering on the inside of the base fabric.
By elastic crimped yarns are meant yarns which have been produced by any of the known methods for achieving a crimp, e.g. B. by strong overwinding, fixing in this state and turning back, also with the help of interlocking toothed rollers or by bringing the threads into a crimping chamber and compressed under the action of heat and moisture. In addition, the crimping can also be done by pulling the threads over a sharp edge. The elastic crimped yarns are preferably made of polyamide fibers, e.g. B. from those that consist of the polycondensation product of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid, also those of p-caprolactam or those of tl-aminoundecanoic acid.
The crimped yarns can also consist of other synthetic organic textile fibers, e.g. B. those based on polyvinyl (polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride, etc.) or those made of polyesters (polyethylene glycol terephthalate).
The drawing illustrates an embodiment of the textile tape produced by the method according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a cross section of the textile band in plan view, with parts of certain chain elements of this band are removed, and Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through this band.
The textile tape according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has a base fabric a consisting of ordinary threads, on which a warp b woven with it and formed by highly elastic crimped yarns is superimposed.
In a corresponding manner, two chains arranged one above the other are fed simultaneously to the loom used for the production of this tape. But while the chain consisting of ordinary threads is fed tightly, the crimped yarn chain is fed loosely. This latter chain is advantageously drawn into the strands of the front heald frames of the loom so that it can be lifted as high as possible.
The binding is selected according to FIG. 2 so that, for. B. tie 7 shots each in the base fabric (such as 8 satin). In addition to the warp threads of the base fabric, every eighth weft thread also binds the threads of the crimped yarn chain, so that these are tied in in a periodic order.
If the crimped yarn chain, which, as already mentioned above, stands as high as possible above the weft compartment and is tense, lowered, the sheet compresses the loosening, elastic crimped yarn chain on one of the two belt surfaces when it is hit. The extent of this upsetting effect depends on the extent of the tension of the crimped yarn chain and varies depending on the tension of this chain. In this process, a peculiarity of the crimped yarn needs to be mentioned in particular. By over-twisting, heat-setting in this state and twisting back polyamide threads, a voluminous crimped yarn is formed which is very stretchable in the longitudinal direction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This property is used here, u. as follows:
By lifting the elastic crimped yarn chain as high as possible, as mentioned above, the individual threads of the same are tensioned or stretched, which is equivalent to a narrowing of the cross section of the crimped yarn. If these stretched threads are now lowered, they are loosened again. If at this point in time the reed of the loom executes its stop stroke, these loosened threads, as mentioned above, form a U-shaped loop, whereby the desired velor effect is achieved. The binding of the basic chain is advantageously chosen such that the binding of the crimped yarn chain comes to lie under the threads of the basic chain in order to obtain smooth threads on the back.
In this way, a textile tape of the type mentioned above can be produced, which is significantly cheaper than the previously known tapes of this type. The plush-like effect persists even after prolonged use and after repeated washing; the tape lies comfortably soft on the skin and the tape is largely prevented from sliding.
