Elektromagnetisches Schnellrelais
Relais laut Fig. 1 verwendeten zweiteiligen
Ankers.
In Fig. I bedeutet 1 den Haltemagneten,

Electromagnetic high-speed relay
For some purposes, such as Relays with a very short operating time are required, for example for the grid shutdown of power converters. The operating time of a relay depends primarily on the acceleration given to the armature in the event of a response. High acceleration is achieved through the low weight of the armature and the use of electromagnets with high tensile force. It is also already known to reduce the proper time of a relay by using a holding coil with a conical core pole instead of return springs, the tensile force of which decreases rapidly with increasing distance of the armature from the rest position and therefore inhibits the armature movement significantly less than that with increasing Armature movement increasing force of a return spring.
The subject of the invention is an electromagnetic high-speed relay with one of the above-mentioned deviating ones to achieve. g extremely short switch-off times particularly suitable holding magnet arrangement, which is characterized in that the part of the armature assigned to the holding magnet bridges an air gap provided in the magnetic circuit of the holding magnet, the width of which is so small compared to the armature stroke that at
Removal of the armature from the rest position only a weak leakage flux extends into the stroke path.
While in the known arrangement a coil with a straight rod-shaped iron core conical at the end for
For holding the armature in place, in the arrangement according to the invention the holding magnet has an iron core which is almost entirely closed and is only interrupted by one or more narrow air gaps.
It gets to this
Way achieved that on the one hand when the
Air gap of the magnet in the rest position of the
Ankers is bridged by this, a particularly strong field and thus also a high one
Holding force and that, on the other hand, when the armature lifts off, the tensile force decreases extremely quickly, not only because the total field flux decreases because of the increase in magnetic resistance, but mainly because the lines of force penetrating the armature and generating the tensile force are moving away from the armature Because of the small width of the air gap formed by the stationary parts of the holding magnet, armature hardly follows, but rather short-circuiting mainly over this air gap even at a small armature distance, since it represents a path of force lines with lower magnetic resistance.
The part of the magnetic flux that generates the tensile force and passes through the armature therefore decreases extremely quickly. The width of the air gap is preferably only a small fraction of the armature stroke.
According to the invention, the steepness of the drop in tensile force can be further increased in that two or more air gaps used to hold the armature are arranged in series in the magnetic circuit of the holding magnet, each of which has a piece of magnetic material made of magnetic material and magnetically isolated from the other pieces Anchor is assigned.
If, with such an arrangement, the armature lifts away from the holding magnet to a certain extent, the air gap to be penetrated by the armature flux is that instead of twice
Four times or 2n times the armature distance if n is the number of air gaps of the holding magnet connected in series. There is consequently a particularly rapid decrease in the
Flow or pulling force.
Another possibility of increasing the drop in tensile force in the arrangement according to the invention is to make the air gap or air gaps switched on in the magnetic circle of the holding magnet wedge-shaped or, more generally, so that the width of the
Air gap is not uniform. The one with that
The broader part of the air gap assigned to the armature then has a correspondingly lower force line density, although if the
Armature rests on the holding magnet, still gives a high holding force.

associated part of the anchor. The armature part 3 contains two magnetically effective, magnetically separated plates 4, which each bridge one of the wedge-shaped air gaps 9 lying one behind the other in the magnetic circuit of the holding magnet when the armature is held in place. Even the widest part of this air gap formed by the insertion of the intermediate piece 8 in the circle of the holding magnet is, as can be seen, significantly smaller than the armature stroke. The
Air gaps can of course be filled with solid, non-magnetic material.
The actuating magnet is denoted by 5 and its winding by 6. Its poles match those of the
Holding magnets opposite. The iron body of the

Armature part 3 is magnetically separated and expediently contains upright lamellae 10 as magnetically effective parts. By suitable choice of the number, the dimensions and the mutual spacing of these lamellae, it can be achieved that despite the low weight of the
Armature, the tensile force exerted on this by the actuating magnet is great, d. H. that the moving part of the relay is given the greatest possible acceleration.
The anchor part 3 is articulated to the anchor part 7, u. in such a way that when the relay is inactive it always follows the

Contact spring 13. The reference numerals in FIGS. 2 and 3 correspond to those in FIG.
In FIG. 1, both the holding magnet and the actuating magnet are shown as electromagnets. However, it is also possible to use a permanent magnet instead of one of the two electromagnets, in particular instead of the holding magnet that is otherwise excited with a constant current
Use magnets. If the actuating magnet is a permanent magnet or an electromagnet excited with a constant current, the relay is expediently triggered in such a way that the actuating current decreases
The magnetism of the holding magnet, which in this case is to be pre-magnetized with direct current, weakens.
If both magnets are designed as electromagnets, it is also possible to apply the actuation current to both magnets in opposite directions
Let your senses take effect.
By using permanent magnetic material in the construction of the actuating magnet, the requirement that arises in some applications of the relay that the moving part is held in the response position even after the overcurrent or the actuating current has disappeared can be met in a simple manner. This should z. For example, if the relay is used for the grid shutdown of converters, continuous switching on and off of the converter, caused by the relay dropping each time after the grid lock takes effect, can be prevented. That the actuating magnet consists wholly or partly of permanent magnetic material. does not exclude his training as an electromagnet.
In order to enable the required very rapid increase in the field, it is advisable to scroll through the permanent magnetic material as well. Instead of using the actuating magnet itself to hold the armature in the response position, you can also use a separate, z. B. arranged in the immediate vicinity of the actuating magnet and, if necessary, provide permanent magnets acting on the same armature as this. The moving part can be returned to the rest position, for example, by increasing the field of the holding magnet.
