Dehnbares elektrisches Kabel.

Stretchable electrical cable.
Extensible electrical cables are known in which the individual conductor itself is elastic by being arranged around an elastic body, or is located inside an elastic body. The individual elastic bodies can be braided or stranded to form a multi-core cord and, if necessary, braided again.
The invention relates to a stretchable electrical cable which has the shape of an elastic helix, contains a core, a longitudinally flexible body which is arranged eccentrically along this core and an associated sheath which surrounds the cable and the longitudinally flexible body; According to the invention, the elastic, longitudinally resilient body is attached to or in the cover, while its connection with the core is achieved indirectly through the connection between the cover and the core.
With this cable, the conductors and the insulation of the individual cores do not shift to one another, so that there is no friction and wear on the individual conductor threads, which are thin threadlines, especially in the case of low-voltage cords, and the service life of the cables is therefore longer than with the previously known stretchable cables . Furthermore, the individual wire does not need to be very flexible here, so that more suitable insulation materials can be used, by means of which an insulation resistance between the individual wires that is the same as in the case of the usual non-stretchable cables can be achieved.
Two embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing.
FIG. 1 shows a cross section through a cable according to a first embodiment, FIG. 2 shows a cross section of another embodiment and FIG. 3 shows a view of the cable according to FIG. 2.
According to FIG. 1, the cable has four wires 1, each of which has an insulation sheath 2. The wire bundle formed from the four wires is provided with a braid 3 into which three rubber threads 4 running in the longitudinal direction of the cable are braided, which cause the finished cable to take on a helical shape.
According to FIGS. 2 and 3 only one rubber thread 5 is woven into the braid 3 instead of three. Fig. 3 shows the finished cable in which the rubber thread is on the inside of the helical line. Depending on the number and arrangement of the rubber threads, the diameter of the screw turns is larger or smaller. As a result, small winding diameters can be used for low-voltage cables and larger diameters for high-voltage cables.
An elastic body formed by one or more rubber threads could also be arranged eccentrically in the cable in some other way instead of in the braiding.
