Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    Verstärkerschaltung filr Fernmeldezwecke.

    Amplifier circuit for telecommunication purposes.

   It is already known that without disturbing the intelligibility of a long-distance call, one can hack the speech streams; This was done, for example, by enabling the amplifier for the two directions of conversation alternately. This device for preventing self-excitation uses a control frequency of the order of magnitude of 2000 Hertz or more, and the disturbances caused by this control frequency had to be screened out by special screening means, which is disadvantageous.

   The invention avoids these disadvantages by using a frequency above the audible range (e.g. 20,000 Hertz) as the control frequency. This means that special sieve means can be dispensed with; this eliminates difficulties in tuning such devices. The frequency does not have to be kept constant, it can rather fluctuate within wide limits. As shown in the exemplary embodiment, the high frequency is fed to the grids of the amplifier tubes R1 and R2 via the terminals PI, P2 of the transformer Ts. The amplitude of the high frequency and the grid bias voltage are selected so that alternately R1 or R2 becomes conductive.

   For the voltage equalization of the directional frequency, the existing or a small additional capacitance is usually sufficient and the often high self-induction of the telephone lines is hardly considered as a resistance.

   The speaking currents coming from the direction LA, LB arrive at a certain point in time via the transformers Ti and Tus, dite grid battery GB, to the grid and cathode of the tube ssj, which amplifies them in a known manner by means of the transformer T2 in the line La , Lb become audible. Likewise, after the directional frequency has been reversed, the amplification of the speech currents coming from La, Lb via tube R2 takes place in the next moment.

   The triodes shown in the example can also be replaced by a double tube or by multi-grid tubes.
